And they got it all totally spot on. The recipient was both surprised and pleased with the flowers and the delivery was perfect.

Negative experience: Unfortunately I did not have a good experience with this business. My parents kindly called in to the shop to enquire about flowers for my wedding after seeing the positive reviews online and wanting to use a local business. The staff member in the store advised the owner was not in, they could not assist in his absence, and to send an email outlining what we were looking for and someone would be in touch. An email was sent as requested but we have never received any response. Highly unprofessional and disappointing as it would take only a minute to respond and say you do not have capacity to assist/are not interested rather than ignoring a potential customer. We ended up using a local florist in Wellington instead, which has been a completely different and very positive experience.

Fantastic experience: In my opinion this is by far the best florists in the area. My wife and I have always used Nicky's flowers over the past several years and have never been disappointed. It therefore felt very fitting to select this independent florist to provide the flowers for my dear wife's funeral after she tragically passed away in December. I was blown away by the beautiful arrangement you produced. It was exactly as I requested and just as she would have liked and was clear that a great amount of care and effort had gone in to producing the arrangement. We also requested her favourite flowers (peonies) to place on the casket after the service. To our surprise, considering the time of year, the stems were fully in flower and smelt incredible. Thank you for helping make her send off so so special and just as she would have wanted.

Answer from Nicky’s ‘no problem at all’ and I collected four lovely button holes at 0930 am the following morning. Brilliant service from a friendly team thank you!

Fantastic experience: I ordered some flowers for a funeral and asked for something a bit different. I asked for a hand tied bouquet. They were absolutely gorgeous. I was so pleased as I hadn't order anything fromNickys before. I will certainly use Nickys in the future.

Negative experience: Unfortunately they failed to deliver the flowers on the date specified, I'm not even convinced they tried as they claimed there was nowhere safe to leave them yet the building is a retirement block with staff on site daily, not to mention plenty of neighbours. They didn't bother to call the recipient or myself with an update. My MIL was left thinking we had not bothered and then that it was an after-thought when they arrived the following morning. I chose this florist over others that guaranteed next day such as M&S and InterFlora because they're local but unfortunately they let us down. Lesson learnt. The flowers received were indeed beautiful hence the 2 stars, but sadly tainted by the late delivery and zero communication. They did offer to refund the delivery charge but that doesn't really achieve anything when someone's been left feeling forgotten on their Birthday. We won't be using them again.

Choice of flowers, and the slightly close to the deadline nature of the second order did not seem an issue. The flowers in both arrangements were such brilliant choices. Physalis alkekengi! Negative experience: Booked an appointment to see Nicky to organise our wedding flowers. Despite two emails and a phone call, we never heard anything back despite his claim that he hasn't forgotten! Disappointed as found his lack of communication highly unprofessional. We made a special journey to his shop to discuss our plans and have had to put plans on hold due to waiting for a quote that has never arrived. Poor service

Negative experience: Such a shame to write this but I am so disappointed with this florist its beyond me. I talked with the owner and we discussed a wreath for my dear beloved friend I paid 100.00 in advance and left totally confident that I would be getting what I asked for . On the day of the funeral I could not believe what turned up I could of done better myself, I wrote to the owner describing my disappointment and asked for his comments, no reply, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt and wrote again, I have been totally ignored. Its a shame people cannot deal with criticism, It was the only flowers at the funeral and they were a total let down, I am in business myself and the very least I would of done was acknowledge the letters, No way will I promote this company or use them again . It would of only taken a reply !!!
