Fantastic experience: Amazing service! I placed a last minute order the night before and was so impressed when the flowers arrived before 9am the next morning. They were absolutely beautiful and made my mum’s day extra special. Highly recommend and will definitely be ordering again!

I called late on a Friday for a bouquet with specific flowers in mind for my wife’s birthday, and with only one hour until the shop was due to close the lovely lady said she would wait past closing time if necessary for me to get there and made me the most beautiful bouquet of flowers that smelt amazing!!! Negative experience: Ordered the blue and lemon sheaf for a dear friend’s funeral via Interflora.Really not happy with the sparse arrangement.Just looked like a small bunch of flowers clumped together with a black ribbon tyed around it. I ended up adding to it myself with more flowers I had to buy.They arrived the day before as well so it was just luck I was home.I had to try and find somewhere cool on a particularly hot day.Very disappointed in this service

Negative experience: Ordered flowers via Interflora on 5th Feb for Valentine’s Day. Which they arranged with Jane Maple. To be informed at 6pm on Valentine’s Day there was no more stock available. Poor. On every level. Would never recommend, use in future.

Negative experience: How to get 1 stars: start shouting “no, no no no no” from inside the shop when a mother and child are taking interest on their valentines flowers which were on display for £10. (Said child was touching with his 2 year old hands, not a pair of scissors) How to get 5 stars: Say hello, good morning or can I help? if a child has taken interest in something the parents are a lot likely to buy. It’s flowers, not a crystal vase.

Fantastic experience: Jane and the team were so helpful leading up to our wedding with advice and creative thoughts, and in the end with final decisions from us able to pull it all together s in the last week. They made us some incredible buttonholes and bridal bouquets, with some changes to the sizes of the buttonholes the day before, was not a problem for them at all. This finished results were incredible. Highly recommend for weddings and other occasions, we will continue our business there like we always have!

Negative experience: I had a hideous experience with the owner herself. As with several reviews here, I also found the owner’s customer service to be non existent. Unfortunately, her attitude filters down to her team who were also unable to function in her absence (which was all the time). The owner was never in the shop and never called back and once challenged tried to justify her unprofessionalism and bad attitude rather than apologising and taking accountability. She came across as entitled and we are truly baffled as to why? It’s awful she got to treat us this way after she messed us around for weeks, only for her then to advise she was now unable to help. Considering the action she really was unapologetic. Please think carefully before trusting/using her. Maple’s reputation proceeds her amongst long term locals and so many of them had advised us to avoid her. However, I regrettably didn’t listen at the time and now I also have to tell people considering a florist to AVOID Maples and her shop due to my own bad experience. So, if you’re new to Hertford please take this review in to consideration as I wished I had. As per the other reviews, I have to agree the flowers from Love Flowers are by far superior, better value and overall just a nicer finished product. The Customer Service is also great but, above all, everyone is friendly, courteous, honest, HUMBLE and helpful.

Fantastic experience: Jane was super helpful from start to finish. We gave Jane a couple of ideas on what we wanted but most importantly gave Jane free rein overall when it came to the flowers, she did not fail to impress and the flowers were so beautiful. Negative experience: This so-called 'professional' florist posted a video ON MY FRIEND'S WEDDING DAY, criticising her choice of moon frame. Perhaps, to save one of your customers bursting into tears ON HER WEDDING DAY, save this sort of feedback for more than 24 hours???

Negative experience: Received a bouquet on Saturday afternoon from work colleagues which was a lovely surprise! It was a basic bouquet with not that many flowers considering how expensive they are! 5 days in and they were mostly dead apart from 2 pink flowers.I called the shop to ask the time span of a bouquet to which I was told a few days! I was shocked and said that I buy flowers from Aldi and Tesco that last 2 to 3 weeks. There was no apology or interest in my call. Eventually the assistant suggested I send an email with pictures which I did but no response,no apology and no offer of new flowers.Definitely won’t use or recommend.Very over priced and rubbish quality flowers as well as poor customer service

Negative experience: A horrible bridal bouquet experience! AVOID ESPECIALLY IF YOU’RE MUSLIM and don’t want to be on the receiving end of passive Islamaphobia. My sister and I are always happy to answer questions about Islam to people who have a genuine interest and outlook; but who wants to answer derogatory questions whilst picking up a bouquet the day before your sister’s wedding, and with someone who mentions she has a friend in Tel Aviv with a smirk on her face…My sister was taken aback when she went to collect my bouquet and I was shocked when she told me about her experience. I emailed Jane at short notice for a bridal bouquet as I had struggled to find what I was looking for in the months leading up to my wedding. Jane emailed me back and advised she could and requested an inspo picture, which I was so pleased and grateful for. I then didn’t hear from her for 10 days after which I got a response “Hi, yes sorry was on holiday” (Barely an apology or acknowledgment of how long it had been since our last email). Along with the price and advising she just needs to confirm whether she could get the brown dried foliage on time and that she’d know by Wednesday. Come Wednesday, I’d heard nothing but assumed she must have gotten hold of the dried foliage. I asked for a whimsical, less structured bouquet with creams, nude, beige, brown with a hint of burnt orange with dark brown pampas/dried florals and foliage. My bouquet on the day had no correlation to the colours requested. Instead it had so much green foliage, yellow/green undertones on the flowers and baby pink and yellow, when there was no mention of green foliage. Janes response to this was that she just assumed I wanted green foliage, and that the pictures I had sent were heavily filtered but this could easily have been confirmed by just asking me or advising me to clarify colour choices. It had not been brought up in our email exchanges and I had actually described the colours I wanted along with the photos. I’m utterly shocked and saddened that my sister had to be on the receiving end of her condescending questions on our faith and some sort of past trauma relating to Jane’s experience in going to school with the majority being Muslim/brown skin and the “stories” Jane’s mum would tell her from teaching in a school of high Muslim student attendance. I’m sorry but we have no connection with Jane’s experience with her peers at school not her mum’s teaching experiences My sister simply went to collect my bouquet. Jane did agree to take out the green foliage (which was about 80% of the bouquet!) but the colours were so off there wasn’t much else that could be done. Eventually once I got the bouquet, I took out the burnt orange flowers and attempted to make my own bridal bouquet the best I could, with my own dried foliage. I actually follow Jane on Instagram and loved her personality, work and presence on the platform. It goes to show that you never really know the true character of an individual based on what they choose to show on social media.

Fantastic experience: Today I received the most beautiful flower arrangement from my work colleagues and the bouquet is really beautiful purple and peach, a combination I would never have thought of. Its very scented so my house smells beautiful

Negative experience: Such a beautiful little shop with great flowers just such a shame about the awful customer service (which is in stark contrast to Love Flowers), I felt as though I would've been better off ordering online which doesn't help local businesses. Therefore I wouldn't recommend Jane Maples Flowers for an 'in shop' personal experience when purchasing something special.

Negative experience: Ordered by my son flowers that cost £150 and were to be a grand gesture not a shockingly bad disappointment. The owner has been so insulting and has caused so much hurt by her rude and disrespectful comments. The flowers were not even pretty badly arranged with Half dead mismatched roses with a grotty ribbon holding them together.

Negative experience: Unbelievably bad flowers delivered from this place, when we complained about it the lady was very rude and insulting, offered no apologies. Avoid this shop please.

Fantastic experience: Jane was our florist for our wedding at The Gherkin in July. We had to postpone our wedding four times due to the pandemic and she was always accommodating and understanding. Her flowers are AMAZING and absolutely made the venue what it was on the day. We said we wanted to keep it modern and architectural and she ran with that and created the most beautiful designs with lots of greenery, palms and perfect white hydrangeas. She just totally got it. We had so many compliments on our flowers and couldn’t have asked for more.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with the service as someone ordered me a surprise bouquet for my birthday which never arrived. If I hadn't of spoke to my brother I wouldn't have had any idea of this surprise. RUINED 5 WEEKS OF WAITING

Fantastic experience: My fiancé is from Hertford and we decided to get married in his village. I was looking around for a florist on Instagram and I stumbled on Jane’s page. I was blown away at the beauty of arrangements. I made an in-person visit and the freshness of flowers was incredible. Everything looked just perfect. I’m American and I requested a floral arrangement of a combined flag of the USA and UK. It turned out wonderfully. Everyone was incredibly complimentary of the bouquets, table piece on the Registrar’s table, poseys, buttonholes, and most of all my flower crown. I can’t thank Jane and her team enough for the beautiful flowers we had at our wedding! It truly made the difference.

Positive experience: Given 4 stars as order was very quickly delivered. Placed an order at 00:45 on 16/03/19 and bouquet was delivered by 11:30am same day to my friend for her 50th Birthday, so was well pleased. From the photo my friend sent the flowers were fresh & Tiger Lillies were in bud form , so will open over the next few days. The negative was that I paid for large Vibrant bouquet in a vase. The bouquet was much smaller than pictured, did not come in a vase but box and the hellium balloon was a disappointing one for 50th Birthday. But have given 4 stars due to fresh flowers & very quick delivery & regardless of size of the bouquet my friend loved it.

Negative experience: My wife received mother's day flowers from here. Whilst the arrangement looked impressive, the larger roses were on their last legs and wilted after a couple of days. For what these will have cost the kids, it's not really acceptable. [Hence my review]

Negative experience: I went to view some flowers as I had never been in there before, I was told extremely rudely that they were all sold out and I couldn't have any even if I wanted some - despite the tonnes of flowers that looked like they were available to buy? No one explained how their system worked and two ladies then ushered me out the door with a very sarcastic thanks and goodbye. Very disappointed in the service here, I understand different stresses and pressures but it only takes someone to kindly explain that they are sold out but actually give me a break down of the services they offer for future reference.

Negative experience: Recommended by a friend because the flowers 'are always such good quality' (I can't comment on this) Just really disappointed with the service I received. I asked for a quote for my wedding flowers. Never heard back, chased it up, and then again heard nothing. These things aren't always on purpose, but I do think it's poor to not even call back to say they didn't want to do it.

Negative experience: Awful bouquet delivered from here for Mother's Day. Much smaller than ordered and paid for, flowers wilting upon arrival. The material surround on the vase was fraying and scrappy. Looked genuinely terrible and of appalling standard. Having spoken to friends, others have had a similar experience with this business. I will in future avoid this place, they simply can't be trusted to get a fairly standard bouquet done well. I am currently in contact with interflora to get my money back. Will never use this awful place again.
