Negative experience: Today I stopped by for a “self-service” arrangement for home. I love being able to pick out flowers on my own, however, I had a bad experience with price and the lady picking all the leaves off my flowers. Some of my flowers she tore sections off and threw them on the floor (flowers I paid for). We have visited this place a few times and love going in. However, $31 is too much for a bouquet that costed around $12 the last time we visited.

Fantastic experience: Gillespie has been my go to for special occasions for over 10 years. Sure the grocery is nice in a pinch, but if you’re looking for that above and beyond look, Gillespie is your spot. The color and flower variety is unmatched. And I’ve always had a warm welcome every time I’ve gone in.

Fantastic experience: WOW!! Gorgeous!! OMG!!! Stunning!! I was looking for creative baby flowers to send to my son and his wife on the birth of their first baby, a son. It was hard to find anything on the online of what I wanted and the selections were so limited. I live in the suburb of the Chicago area. I went local and saw Gillespie Florists and this awesome arrangement. I love the "It's a Boy!" wagon. I talked to Lynn who helped me with what I wanted to send. She allowed me to change the some flowers to have it more "Blue" in the arrangement at no additional cost. How cool was that?!! I never had this kind of experience with a florist. The flowers were fresh and arranged beautifully. The price was reasonable and the weekday delivery was affordable. I am SO IMPRESSED with Gillespie!!! The biggest plus is that they will send you a picture of the arrangement via text so you can see it before it is delivered. I never had this happened before. FANTASTIC!!! Fantastic experience: Popped in to a floral arrangement for a coworker. They always have several in their case of varying sizes and prices. I chose one with lots of color, fragrance was good too. They put it in cellophane and a box to make transporting it easier. Great gift too. They are always super nice and helpful.

I was unaware that the person was staying a different location and I redirected the driver twice to get the flowers to her. They were compassionate and very flexible. Negative experience: Ordered flowers to.be delivered valentine's day received email on valentine's day to let me know they couldn't deliver til the 18th. This will be noted and I will.never buy flowers through them again. Be careful if you are expecting prompt reliable service.

Negative experience: 1 star because i can not put 0. went in and left soon after! wearing political merchandise to your job in 2024 is not professional at all. in need of a dress code. i called the manager to complain and was later informed by a friend that the sales woman was not made to take off the merchandise. i will be taking my business to another local florist!

Fantastic experience: The charm ornament and carnations I got for my physical therapist and the receptionists yesterday they loved! Love coming here and getting sentimental gifts!! Negative experience: I called to find flowers for my friend’s aunt’s funeral service. I spoke to an older sounding woman, I’m not sure of her name but i believe it was Rachel. She was very rude over the phone and it made me feel like an inconvenience for calling the store. I asked for a price range on a mid sized arrangement and small card, she then sighed and rudely asked how much I planned to spend. I knew i was done after that. I told her to have a nice day and that I would be taking my business elsewhere. I am not from the area, but i wanted to do something nice for my grieving friend and saw that this place had good reviews. i’m sure their arrangements are wonderful, however customer service is more important in my book.

Fantastic experience: Purchased floral arrangements for a funeral from Gillespie. I was not familiar with what was appropriate and they made the process very easy and stress free for us. We purchased an arrangement to surround an urn as well as a matching standing display. They did a great job picking flowers to match our color selections and also arranging the display around the urn so as not to block its design from view.

Positive experience: My flowers are dying after 3 days! I 've had this happen before when purchasing these species in the fall. The flowers don't grow well after August, and I need to remember that. Blooms are smaller, less fragrance, less vibrant. Not the shops fault, but they should advise customers (ie remind them) at purchase. Still one of the best shops in town! P.S. their house plants are some the healthier plants around! .

Negative experience: I was in here last week, and was unfortunately dissatisfied with my experience. I’m a regular customer that comes in weekly to grab bouquets from the front cooler. I sat in line for a good while waiting on the customer in front of me. There was only one person working at the register which I understand. The phones also seemed to be ringing off the hook, so I understand they are busy. The young lady was trying her best. But, I simply just find it extremely ridiculous that I had to wait so long for a small ticket item. I hope next time the service is more prompt.

Fantastic experience: I had ordered a funeral arrangement for my sister-in-law’s visitation & funeral. I wanted something special with “2 Angel figurines”, one for each niece. They made some adjustments to a floral arrangement I 1st picked so it would accommodate 2 angels. It was absolutely beautiful! Both nieces loved it! One of my brothers ordered at the same time a rubber plant & everyone there said it was beautiful, he was so happy. My sister that lives east of Indy decided to call Gillespie too. She ordered a Peace Lilly that was stunning. She was so pleased, she had used another florist for the same plant at another funeral & not only did it not show up before the funeral, it cost a lot more! We all felt they did excellent work for surprisingly a lot less money than we’ve spent elsewhere. My family will from now on only call Gillespie! Sue

Fantastic experience: This is my absolute favorite florist. We live in St. Louis but my 96 year old grandma lives in Indianapolis. For years I have been using Gillespie to send her flowers for holidays, her birthday, or just because. I love that they send me a photos of the arrangement before they deliver so I know exactly what she's getting.

I called after my sister got into a car accident, and they not only pateintly helped me create a gorgeous bouquet for her, but they delivered it within a few hours of me calling. They also sent a picture of the final product. After working with Gillespie florists, I never want to order from anywhere else! Negative experience: I have been going to Gillespie for years and have always loved simplicity of it for those of us who don’t know flowers. My son and I would stop in and pick out my wife’s favorite flowers and they would make us a beautiful custom arrangement. The new past holiday when we had went they told us this time we could not pick our own flowers or get anything custom and told me next holiday to stop in day prior to pick out what I want and order it. Today I go in to pick out and place my Mother’s Day order and they inform me they no longer let customers pick out their own flowers . They could put an arrangement together if I knew what I wanted. So for those customers who don’t know what they want or who like to pick their flowers this might not be the place for you , is the feeling I got. Two stars because the flowers I got in the past were beautiful.

I spent pretty minimal time with them compared to a lot of the other vendors, but my flowers turned out absolutely beautiful! I didn't exactly know what I wanted, but they took notes on little things I said I did and didn't like and turned out a beautiful product. I'm so grateful to have had such a stress free experience. They even adapted to a few surprises at the venue without me even knowing it. I highly recommend their work!

The flowers were so beautiful!!! Way better than I thought!!! They sent me a picture of the finished arrangement. They also sent me a email to let me know they were delivered. I have never had a florist shop make sure I knew every step of the way to ease my concern about them being delivered. I ordered flowers before from 1800 flowers and the day of my daughters birthday ( when they were supposed to be delivered)they informed me they could not deliver them until a day after! I will only use Gillespie from now on.
