Modesto Exotic Flowers

Negative experience: We recently ordered a tall sympathy arrangement from this Florist's website totaling over $240.00 for same day local delivery. Unfortunately the recipient received a smaller floral arrangement that looked nothing like what was advertised/ordered. It also appears that they reduced the flower volume which made the arrangement look like $50-70 worth of flowers. I would not recommend this florist as you will definitely be disappointed. UPDATE: The owner of the Modesto Exotic Flowers called me to apologize and indicated that there was a delivery mistake. She offered to send a dozen white roses to my recipient which was a nice offer however it was not the same quality/value of my original arrangement. I'm thankful for the apology, but I would have preferred that the original arrangement be re-made and sent to the recipient or a full refund since it was a delivery error.

Fantastic experience: I have never been to a flower shop with lively atmosphere, birds chirping, soft music in the background, the sound of fish splashing water. It was so beautiful and peaceful at Modesto Exotic Flowers. More importantly, the flowers are fresh and smell so good. I love it here! I would order flowers for my wife any time. They always arrange beautiful and unique creations. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: The minute I walk in the flower shop, I could hear soft music in the background, waterfalls, Koi fish splashing in the pond, birds chirping, not to mention the beautiful fragrance of Stargazer lilies and vibrant exotic floral stems and foliage. The tropical atmosphere reminds me of my homeland of Cambodia. I love that they get their weekly shipment directly from the islands of Hawaii. You can’t find another flower shop like Modesto Exotics. They are unique with great service and beautiful designs!

Negative experience: Terrible flower shop with terrible service. All the flowers come from traders Joe's. Compare the orchids that they sell for $80 at the flower shop versus the orchids that are sold at trader Joe's for $12. They make no changes. Just remove the price tag and jack the price up. Same with the roses. Terrible quality. Don't last long and are at the brink of death. When you walk in, look at the roses at the corner and bottom shelf and you'll see that they're wilting. They also persuade customer to write positive reviews on exchange for a discount, but they never give a discount. They have a sign that says buy one get one half off, they never honor it. If you want the same quality flowers, go to traders Joe's and save yourself hundreds of dollars. These people are scammers. It's literally the same product and if you ever walk in, look underneath the pots and look for stickers. Sometimes the original price tag from trader Joe's is still there. And if you ever consider using their services, always ask them to give you fresh flowers because they will give you the ones that are about to die in a matter of days. Ask them to bring out the buckets in the back so that you can see the difference from what they have in display versus what they have in the back. And the owner is very rude, yells at his customers, employees, delivery drivers, and vendors. If you don't buy something within 5 minutes, he will kick you out. Also, he could be racist because I noticed he gives black people a hard time and is always watching them when they enter and demands that they buy something or leave the store. This shop is absolutely ridiculous. Take all this with a grain of salt and consider what I've said. Get yourself better quality and save your money and buy elsewhere. Thank you for reading.

Negative experience: I am no longer pleased with coming here anymore. First “premium” flowers I bought from them a couple years ago were amazing and almost pageant like. Second “premium” flowers I bought about a year ago were sub par and I had to request further flowers added to make it premium worthy. The third “premium” flowers I ordered for delivery this time and came out to look like the ones shown below. They’re ok but not “premium” status nor “premium” size according to their website of 11.5 inches high and 12 inches wide.

Fantastic experience: I’ve come here multiple times, my girlfriend always loves the flowers they always come out amazing. The workers take very special love and care of their flowers, I’ll continue coming here every time. Definitely worth the price.

Fantastic experience: Yesterday, my bestfriend surprised me with this special delivery from this floral shop. I absolutely love it! It is such a beautiful arrangement. Brought some light to the dark day I was having. Thank you George for delivering this beautiful arrangement. **Side note- I've used this floral shop in the past and was very happy with their work. I ordered the arrangements for my late Fiance's funeral back in Sept 2020. Will definitely be returning for any future needs.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough wonderful things about this flower shop! I placed a very last-minute order for my best friend on an incredibly meaningful and emotional day. Not only were the flowers absolutely beautiful, but George personally delivered them himself. That level of care and compassion is rare to find. He went above and beyond to make sure the arrangement arrived on time and with such kindness. It meant the world to me and even more to my friend. Negative experience: I ordered some flowers and they did same day delivery but I payed for flowers with a balloon and then they tell me last minute they ran out of balloons which I paid extra for and specifically requested. They were not timely at all with the delivery. I would take my business elsewhere..not the best but not the worst.

Negative experience: We ordered and paid for flowers for my mother's funeral. When we arrived for the funeral NO flowers were there. They did not deliver or answer their calls. When we went to the florist shop for a refund;1st the owner tried to give us credit minus some processing fee. We demanded a full refund. They were not organized because the invoices were in disarray and he asked us how much the refund should be. My mom had no flowers at her funeral.

Fantastic experience: George did an amazing job with a beautiful orchid arrangement for my Mom’s 40th work anniversary! What was delivered was far beyond my expectation! Thank you George for making my Mom’s celebration more special and memorable!

Negative experience: Super unprofessional, I placed an order for a corsage and boutonnière for my daughter and her boyfriend and for pick up today May 3rd for their prom at Beyer High. They failed to call all the students who placed their order for pick up today to let them know they could not fulfill the orders. My daughter walked in to pick up her custom order and that’s when they told her she would need to just choose from what they have in stock at the moment. I feel like if we spent $80 on a custom order why would you not atleast discount the difference of what a standard and custom order would be? The owner was extremely rude!

Fantastic experience: UPDATE, 03/24/2025: George and his team did not disappoint!! Delivered same day, two beautiful and fresh arrangements. Martha text me pictures of the arrangements when they were delivered without me asking her to do so! Thanks for going above and beyond and exceeding my expectations, again!! Highly recommend!! I called the shop today to inquire about an arrangement and same-day delivery and I was pleasantly surprised. Exotic Flowers delivered an amazing product the same day, and at the time I requested. Their customer service and exemplary workmanship is unmatched!! The florist whom I initially spoke with on the phone messaged me personally to ask which vase I'd like as they did not have the one pictured on-line. She also sent me a picture of the arrangement, which was gorgeous!!! My family and I will definitely be returning to this top-notch establishment for all our floral needs. Highly recommend from an out-of-state patron. Thank you so much for exceeding my expectations and making my sisters birthday extra special!!

Fantastic experience: I called out of state to have flowers delivered to my grandmother who lives locally. The owner answered and took my order. He was very helpful. My grandmother absolutely loved them she said they were glorious. she told me later she knew the shop well which is a plus! Fantastic experience: I ordered a bouquet for my friend to celebrate her newborn, and the bouquet was SO gorgeous and better than expected! The color scheme they chose (whites and blues) was perfect for the occasion. George and his team were so helpful when I called in last minute to move the delivery date around too. George personally called to make sure the delivery went well and that everyone was happy with the flowers. That’s an owner who cares about his business, which I so appreciated. Will definitely be ordering from here again.

Negative experience: My wife and I went into the store planning on getting some flowers and a gentleman with glasses just sat behind the counter playing with his phone didn't say hi or even look up from his phone. So we just walked out

Negative experience: Ordered a boutonnière went to pick up and they didn’t have it, then fell apart during prom pictures. Ordered a corsage and they didn’t have that either.

Negative experience: Husband bought beautiful roses on Saturday and they are already dead!! Changed water yesterday as the pedals were falling off and you could see they were dying. $90 down the drain!!! Disappointing to say the least.

Fantastic experience: My husband asked me to order flowers for a funeral while he was traveling to it. I had a very hectic day and completely forgot about it. I was frantically calling around at the very last moment before the florist closed; and the flowers had to be there by 10:00 am the very next day. I called about 4 or 5 places before I came upon this gem. Not only did they make my request, the woman was so sympathetic, kind and a beautiful human. I called them back after they delivered the flowers to express my gratitude, I found out more about this company. They are a family owned small business with the biggest heart. If you come across the need for flowers, please consider them. Happy customer in Florida.

Negative experience: How I badly miss my old florist. Ordered an arrangement for special purpose but not happy with it. The petals of the three roses used appears to be at beginning whither stage, the edges of the petals are beginning to brown and falling off. Signs of no emotion or feeling put into it.

Negative experience: HORRIBLE!! Just to start they were so incredibly rude and dismissive.I ordered 3 bouquet that came to 472.00. Got there and they didn't even have my full order they had to take from someone else's. Then when I mentioned that one of them wasn't what I ordered they told me this was as good as that was gonna get. And when I asked if there was anything they could add to it since it was a $185 bouquet and i pretty much just got roses instead they put ONE leaf stick in it and told me that was good. I have gotten flowers here for YEARS, but the last 2 years have been a nightmare! Not worth it money they charge!
