Negative experience: Delivery service is awful. They will charge you a separate delivery fee if the person doesn’t answer the door and you don’t answer their call to advise on alternative instructions.

Negative experience: Poor service. We got up to go to the restroom and our table was cleared, our food was taken half way through our meal and our belongings were taken to the front desk. The manager approached us and said they thought we had left and apparently left all our belongings at the table. Didn't offer a discount or anything other than we are so sorry

Negative experience: It’s a beautiful place for photos but the food took too long to come out my rose vanilla latte was cold. My husband’s biscuits and gravy was a bit sweet and cold had to send it back. Honestly the food took almost 50 minutes. We were not able to split the check because it’s a weekend. We probably will not be back my sister came from Houston and was not impressed. Sorry I have to be honest. We ordered one plate of chilaquiles, biscuits and gravy, French toast, waffle, side of toast and beacon $125.00 it was a bit steep on the price.

Fantastic experience: Went for breakfast and had an amazing time! Our waiter Esteban was so helpful in describing items on the menu. He helped give advice on what he recommended when asked. He suggested the bee sting coffee, which was amazing. Also purchased flowers that came out beautiful!

Negative experience: This place is normally very good i get my flowers for my wife here. But today i want to get some candles for my that where there. I called them and told them that i was on my way and i know that i was late 3 mins but they shut the door to me and said that the close at 3. I get it i was late but i have been giving them my business for years. And they where still inside cleaning. Well they just lost a very good customer.

What really stood out was the extra care taken- the young lady actually called ahead to confirm the delivery address, which gave me such peace of mind. (With me being out of state). When I came in today i had a set bouquet in mind but the flowers that I needed weren’t there. However after speaking to Max one of the workers today on July 4th. He went to the back room and just as I was about to leave we walks in with the flowers I needed. Not just 1 or 2 but literally like almost all of them. Max you truly amazing bro! Thank you for saving my bouquet for my step mom you are awesome! Southern roots team get this guy a raise a promotion or something he’s the reason why I will stay coming back to southern roots!

Fantastic experience: Excellence little flower shop with specialty and everyday flowers for your dining table and events. You can order flowers through them for future events as well however I've only purchased for my home to decorate my table for dinner.

Negative experience: Our group of friends pitched in to send our best friend a birthday flower arrangement. We chose the ‘Like It Arrangement’ (which we completely understood might not look exactly like the photo), but what we got was just not what we expected. It did not look thoughtfully arranged or fresh as we were looking forward to. Another issue is the handwritten card that came with the bouquet. We had 10 names + a short message and it looked like they didn’t take time with formatting or spacing at all. The words were crammed together & looked rushed overall. So, we reached out to them, as their website suggests, but while the associate wasn’t rude—they offered no solutions and felt dismissive. We paid $112 total ($85 for flowers, $20 for delivery + $7 tax) I’ve recommended this place to several people so this experience is all very confusing..

Negative experience: My friends and I decided to try Southern Roots for our best friend’s birthday, but we were extremely disappointed with the flower arrangement they delivered. Not only did it look completely different from the photos online (we understand that no two arrangements are identical), but it also lacked care, attention to detail, and overall effort. It looked rushed and underwhelming. There were significantly fewer flowers than what we paid for and expected based on the online visuals. The card included with the arrangement was also disappointing.. the handwriting was messy and nearly illegible. You’d think for a birthday delivery, they would at least make the effort to write clearly. We reached out to customer service, hoping for a resolution, but were met with more disappointing service. I was genuinely excited to try this popular new business in the Valley, but after this experience, I unfortunately wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Negative experience: This flower market used to offer high-quality products, but my recent experience was extremely disappointing. I ordered palm branches for our church’s Palm Sunday worship service, placing the order two weeks in advance and paying $3 per branch!! The day before our service, we received branches that were in unacceptable condition. After a month of trying to reach someone to resolve the issue, the “manager” finally responded, offering only a 15% discount on a future order. She showed little concern for the poor quality of their product or the loss of future business. Very disappointing experience.

Negative experience: I absolutely love this flower shop. They have year round peonies which is my favorite flower. My boyfriend went to buy me an arrangement for my birthday and they didn’t get peonies in that week. He did his best and I loved them regardless. He took the time to go to the flower shop I had bragged about. But, this is not the first time my flowers start dying the very next day. My boyfriend came in few days later and said, “Wow, it crazy that the H-E-B flowers I buy you last up to three weeks and more and these didn’t!” I was disheartened! Especially because I had taken a video the next day wanting to reach out . I had decided not to because the last time I did, I never got an email back.

Negative experience: **Review Summary: Disappointing Service and Lack of Communication** I am extremely frustrated with my experience at this shop. I placed an order on February 4, 2025, for two arrangements to be delivered to a business on February 10. On Feb 10, 2025 4:45 PM, they had not arrived. Despite confirming earlier that they would be delivered before 5:00 PM, I was later told by Amanda that deliveries are guaranteed before 6:00 PM, which was confusing. Two different answers by the same shop. I expressed this order was not placed the day before, it was placed with plenty of time in advance. After discussing my concerns, I agreed to postpone the delivery to February 11, but felt embarrassed that the birthday girl received her gift late. I emailed the shop on February 11 expressing my dissatisfaction, but it has been a month with no response. This lack of communication is unacceptable, and I expected better service given the shop's reputation. I hope my feedback leads to improvements for future customers.

Positive experience: Beautiful flowers, always dry up so nice. Staff is friendly and inviting. If you are buying flowers for valentines, graduation, etc be prepared to break the wallet. Flowers are ridiculously overpriced, that is my only complaint

Negative experience: Last Valentine’s day I ordered a large flower arrangement to get delivered and they did not deliver it. I called them and the only thing they offered was to give me my money back. This Valentine’s I thought I would give them another chance since my wife likes their flowers. I ordered flowers two weeks ahead of time and again they did not deliver. I called them this morning to inform them of their mistake and there was no answer. I will never buy from them again under any circumstance.

Negative experience: Beautiful flower arrangements, however, the staff is rude and off putting and does not deliver in customer service. One more than one occasion this has been my experience. I often purchased top price arrangements however due to the repeated experience with the less than friendly staff, I will not be returning.

Negative experience: The bouquet I got for my daughter's 25th birthday was BEAUTIFUL. I decided to go back the next day and get an arrangement for myself. I was specific and saying purple hot pink hydrangeas which they had both of. I also wanted some pink roses in there as well. When I got the bouquet the first time it had no purple, it had lavender and I wanted the purple hydrangeas also. So they remade it, and there was one purple hydrangea and the rest was baby pink. That was not what I asked for. I took the bouquet anyway because it was the second time they had made it and I was waiting in my car for 20 minutes. It's ugly. It was disappointing because the arrangement they made for my daughter's 25th birthday was awesome it was exactly what I asked for, me I was not so lucky.

Negative experience: I called from out of town and spoke with the owner about a floral arrangement for my mother. I sent her an actual picture of what I was wanting. We discussed it and she agreed to do it. What was discussed and agreed on versus what was created was NOT honored. The roses even look close to wilting. A cheap mason jar looking vase was used. Very disappointed.

The sunflower coffee latte was a delightful complement, with a smooth, nutty flavor. And to top it off, the banana nut crème brûlée was pure decadence! The crispy top and creamy custard were a fantastic ending to the meal. NATE DID A WONDERFUL JOB SO ENGAGED AND DELIGHTFUL HELPING CHOOSE EVERYTHING!!

Negative experience: Where do I start? Subpar flowershop with overpriced prices. It's overrated, small, and sell you dead/dying flowers. First time going in, no one greeted me nor any other customers that walked in after me. All social media hype lmao. Spend your money anywhere else, this is not worth it.

Negative experience: The arrangement was beautiful but unfortunately it only lasted three days before the majority of the flowers wilted. Some of the flowers were removed before taking the photos. There were some communication issues as well. I was called twice to verify the address instead of calling the purchaser, so there wasn’t an element of surprise for the flower delivery.

Negative experience: The owners of Southern Roots Flower Market are unprofessional and undependable. When I needed 16 arrangements for a party, I visited Southern Roots (in McAllen & Sharyland) and spoke to employees over the phone several times over the course of several months. I was given contradictory and inaccurate information about vases, prices, ordering, & payment procedures. Two weeks before the event nothing had been done to help me. They did not apologize for anything; they did not question employees; they were rude and condescending. Perhaps if had been ordering a huge amount, I would have been treated differently. If you are on any kind of budget at all, I suggest you go to Oralia's Flower Shop in McAllen. They will go out of their way to help you. They create beautiful arrangements for a lot less money!

Positive experience: Don’t come if you are in a hurry. Took around an hour for a table. After getting the table 15 minutes plus to get our order taken. 10 minutes later we get our house coffees with no cream or sugar… when asked if we would like some… no joke… lol it took another 10 minutes. By this the time the coffee was cold. Food was ok after a long wait. Not worth it IMO. Never Again!

Negative experience: Placed my order and everything went thru for a delivery. I got a call hours later saying they couldn’t deliver my order cus it was too late! I am now in a situation because I am at work and it is too late to look for option B. Something should be posted on the website that same day deliveries don’t exist. A refund will take a week. Super inconvenient.

Negative experience: No respect for customer ! I called at 1.45 and they said they close at 6. (Memorial Day)They didnt even said time might change . Just wasted 30 minutes of gas to arrive at 4.20 and her telling my friend that they close today early (well that’s why I called earlier …) . Asked for at least to buy some stems ( nothing special ) and she said she can’t open ….. were from Edinburg . If I knew I would just go somewhere else . I Can’t believe she knew they said this by phone (they close at 6) and she couldnt open for the time we invested to go here . Other places would respect what they said and would take fault and opened just to buy for their word.

Fantastic experience: I personally love this place, i got flowers from there in two occasions and they did an amazing job, my girlfriend loved them she literally said “i’ve got flowers a lot of times before but these are the most beautiful flowers ever”and she got her flowers at the time they said they were going to deliver and they’re not just another flower shop, this is a whole community, they give you a whole different experience when you go tho that place, the people who work there are so nice and they have markets once in a while where they give the chance to other people, new business and artists to grow in the community, highly recommend
