Fantastic experience: Giving a poor review after receiving a flower arrangement that died within two days of delivery, I was contacted by the new manager of Turkeys and that experience totally changed my view of the business. Thank you for the replacement flowers, they are beautiful! Good customer service is hard to come by, but not at Turley’s. Thank you and I can’t wait for my birthday flowers next year!

Negative experience: And here I am again on line again to order my mom birthday flowers. My last experience with Turleys wasn't great, the classless older woman on the phone did exactly what I told her NOT to do so I was less than pleased. My mom still loved them though. I see other people have had the same lovely customer service issues I have had so I won't be ordering from Turley's again. I should have written this review earlier to save people the hassle.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful Flowers, Delivered with Genuine Care I recently ordered flowers from Turley’s Florist in Nanaimo during a very meaningful time and was truly grateful for the experience. I chose the Elegance Bouquet and it was absolutely beautiful. The flowers were lovingly arranged, brought comfort and light into a tender moment, and lasted far longer than expected. I kept hearing how perfect they were and how much joy they brought simply by being there — which meant so much to me. When placing the order, I spoke with a lovely woman on the phone who was so helpful and genuinely pleasant to deal with. The process felt easy, caring, and reassuring. Delivery was smooth (even to a tricky address), and the quality and attention behind the arrangement truly showed. I would definitely use Turley’s again and highly recommend them. Fantastic experience: Every year we order flowers from Turleys for a family member's Birthday. We aren't local so it's kind of a blind purchase, but every year when we get photos, the flowers are beautiful. This year we were late to order and they still processed and delivered it same day, delivering beautiful flowers with kind and professional service.

Fantastic experience: The delivery driver for my delivery went above and beyond to ensure that the bouquet was delivered and in good condition. My sisters dog was creating a very challenging situation for her and she took a lot of care to make sure the delivery was made. Very impressed at the care!

Negative experience: I wouldn’t recommend this place. I went there on Mother’s Day and they over charged me a few hundred dollars and they won’t refund me. Second time going there and it wasn’t a good experience. I went in to ask them about the situation and the staff kind of gained up on me and told me to leave before I could even really ask my question. I also have an email saying they see the changes and will refund me. Over two months later and I went into the store and there still saying I need to figure it out it’s not there problem. Guess I’ll consider that a donation. Please don’t lie and say you have refunded everything sense then. I never got a dollar back from over 300 bucks you guys charged me for something that was 100 bucks. Just be honest and don’t scam customers or lie about giving there refund. And then saying I showed my card and it declined is a lie. I showed them my transaction because it showed it was approved 3 times and they kept saying that it didn’t actually approved and that it had normal thing that happens and told me to keep trying to pay. Never declined and kept showing approved and they said that’s common for it to not actually charge the card but to say approved. They will say what they want but they are not an honest company “ Hi Keaton, I have just heard back from Teleflora Canada, who processes our orders and payments as well as our bank, and it looks like they have made a mistake on their end. Your Visa card was charged once for $103.02 and your Debit card was charged twice for $206.04 total. Unfortunately, our reports only indicated the Visa charge of $103.02 and not the two debit charges which has lead to much confusion. After opening a file with Teleflora, we can confirm you have been charged three times instead of once and we are SO sorry for the hassle and inconvenience this has caused you. We are issuing a refund for the duplicate charges as well as your order for a total refund of $309.06 and you should see this in 3-5 business days. Again, we are so sorry for this inconvenience and appreciate your patience and for bringing this issue to our attention. Thank you so much! On Mother's Day this customer's card was declined a couple of times, and he showed me on his phone. Our POS system only authorizes transactions immediately; and captures at the days end. I explained this to the customer multiple times. At no time was he told to leave; but he was told to wait 3-5 days to see if it was actually charged. I have since refunded the charges that went through, plus his original purchase for all the trouble this may have caused him. Turleys only operates on integrety and honesty. This is why we have been in business for over 65 years; and voted Nanaimo's #1 florist for numerous years.
Positive experience: Bought dozen roses for a first date. Didn't notice until next day but was shorted one rose. Not a big deal but still.... Flowers did look amazing though

Negative experience: I was in Turleys Wanting to purchase a small Cut bouquet for my granny's 100th Birthday ..when I said I wanted to Spend $35 I heard a lady yelling We're not Thriftys grocery And that's where I should go My granny is in hosp I just Wanted something little There are no excuses for this Kind of customer service I have been a long time customer But not anymore.. I did go to Thriftys and it was Lovely ... And. The customer service was a 5plus I didn't say large boq... Just wanted few flowers But you didn't even ask Just reacted at the $35 And yes it was rude..... It was very clear you didn't want My business
I'm sorry your experience was a one star experience...with the cost of everything these days, we do direct our customers to Thrifty's so they can get something more substantial within their budget. We are finding it difficult to make the large bouquets that longtime customers are used to for $35. Flowers are for everyone...that being said; they are certainly not exempt from inflation. We were NOT rude; we just want everyone to get what they expect for their price range. I can guarantee no yelling ever occurs in our zen flower shop. I'm sorry you found our suggestion offensive; we were only trying to help.
Fantastic experience: In the past 3 weeks, I have been lucky enough to receive 2 stunning (!!) arrangements from Turleys. The first bouquet did not lose a single bloom in 10 days. It was very warm at the time, and I was concerned, but gave it very cold water every day, and finally composted after 12 full days of enjoyment. I’ve just received another beautiful arrangement, and it is inspired and lovely. Don’t believe any negatives. A highly professional, kind, and local gem❤️

Sorry we missed your call! We are a very busy flower shop; we must've been helping an in store customer; or we were on the other line. Please feel free to place your order online where we are open 24/7 for your shopping convenience. Turley's is still in business and going strong for more than 65 years ! Also wise to google shop hours before calling...we are open Mon-Fri- 9-4; Saturdays 10-3.
Negative experience: Wedding order mishandled, zero communication! I emailed Turley’s on Aug 8 with my wedding colours and a request for 9 boutonnieres, 6 bridesmaids’ bouquets, and my bridal bouquet. No reply. I went in person on Aug 19 with my order and requests; I was not asked to pay a deposit, no order form was provided, and I was told the order could be done, I trusted it would be done. I then received no communication. What appeared to be owner or manager at Turley’s claimed they emailed me on Aug 20 and Aug 25, but I checked my inbox and spam and no emails exist. No one called me either, despite having (or being able to take) my phone number. When I returned this week to check on my order, I was told they couldn’t do my bouquets at all and the woman was very rude and dismissive, days before my wedding. There was no understanding, no willingness to work with me, and no effort to maintain any kind of relationship for future orders. Nothing. It was a terrible experience. This was an extremely stressful and unprofessional experience. I’ll be filing a BBB complaint and sharing my experience with other Nanaimo brides.
I'm sorry you feel your wedding was mishandled...but I would like future customers to know what actually happened. I received an email from Jacqueline on August 8 asking for prices for bridal bouquets and boutonnieres; and attached was color swatches and a picture of 2 flowers in those color tones. I did respond to her (via the same email) stating a price for the boutonnieres. I also said I would need more inspiration photos to determine size and variety of flowers in order to provide a quote. I received nothing via email; and I thought she did not want us to do the flowers. Jacqueline did call the shop while I was away on vacation; and she was told to come into the shop to speak with a designers. She did visit on August 19 and spoke with one of the front end staff. No phone number was left; and no order was placed at this time; since she was told the designers would need a better idea of size and flower types to provide a quote. She said to contact her via the original email; which I responded to on August 20. In that email I thanked her stopping by; quoted bouquet prices; and even said I had checked on availability of flowers in her color palate. I also stated I needed her to contact the shop to place her order with payment by Friday August 22; or I would not be able to get the flowers in time. I also stated that we required payment upfront, or the order would not be placed. I did not hear from her. On Monday August 25, I emailed asking if she still wanted the boutonnieres made up; since the window to get flowers had passed. Once again, I stated that an order is not placed without payment; and I needed to hear by the days end . Once again; no response. On August 26, Jacqueline showed up at the shop where my staff informed her we could no longer accommodate her wedding; and I presented her with a printed copy of all the emails I had sent. She claimed she did not get them; but I had proof they were never bounced back; and they were sent to her original email. My staff was kind; I left abruptly to answer a phone call; but both staff members explained the time sensitivity of the matter- no one was ever rude at any time!!! I just want everyone to know we did everything possible to try to accommodate this wedding within a 2 week window. Most brides book at least 4 months in advance.
I appreciate Google for the service they provide; however, I am finding more and more people are using this service to post false statements when their needs aren't met. Ultimately these reviews prove to be very detrimental to small businesses. I encourage consumers to read responses to the reviews as there are always 2 sides to every story!!!

We are a busy full service flower shop and cannot be compared to Costco, and other grocery store flower shop pricing. If you compare us with other flower shops; we are priced about the same if not better. Everything is so expensive these days, and prices keep rising; this does not exclude flowers.
As for customer service... we are short staffed as is every other business these days. I'm sorry we did not meet your standards and will do our best to improve.

Positive experience: Used to be an excellent experience. Something has changed. They mistakenly sent my mom’s flowers a week and a half early, then promised to send her another one of equal value, at no charge, on her birthday as originally requested. That one never arrived. Disappointing. I probably won’t reorder from them again. Quality of the product (when they pay attention to detail) is very good however.

I did make up a lovely arrangement and we sent it out to your Mom. If we ever happen to make a mistake at Turleys; we do our best to make up for it. So sorry once again!

Negative experience: I called Turley's Florist to inquire about Mother's Day flower deliveries. While I understand it might be too late for new orders, the response I received was unnecessarily rude and condescending. The staff member I spoke with had an extremely arrogant tone. It's not about the inability to fulfill the order at this late stage, but the lack of professionalism and courtesy in communication. Based on this very disappointing interaction, I would not choose to order from them in the future.
I am terribly sorry you were late putting in your order for Mother's Day. We were booked for weekend deliveries by Thursday. I personally did not hear any of my staff members being rude on the phone; as that is not tolerated at Turleys. I'm sorry that since you could not get flowers to your mom; my staff member was misconstrued as being unprofessional. At Turleys we aim to accommodate every order; however, at busy times we have to have a cut off to insure our orders can be delivered in a timely manner.
Negative experience: I wouldn’t give them one. But no 0…Twice I’ve had problems. Christmas was disappointing. They sent an apology arrangement in January. Now Mothers Day. I arranged weeks in advance, to find out they don’t deliver Saturdays. Which I paid for early delivery. The owners had to come in and deliver. Was late but they eventually arrived. For the money you spend on these arrangements, I really think they are not doing a good job. Will NOT use again. Also the lady that took my order kept thinking it was going to a home. My mother in law lives in HER own home ! strange
We are sorry that you were not happy with our service. We did do our very best to get flowers to your Mom on the Mother's Day weekend. Nanoose Bay deliveries are sent via courier that does no go out on weekends. The shop owner personally took the delivery out on Saturday as per ordered. We always try to make things right; and we are terribly sorry our service fell short for you.

Negative experience: I was very disappointed in the arrangement. I had helped my daughter pack and move to a new home. She sent me this arrangement to thank me. It was entirely white with the exception of 2 blue hydrangea flowers...one of which died the next day and the other only lasted 2 days. I don't believe hydrangeas are indoor flowers (unless there dried). I was left with a white arrangement...Kind of funereal I thought. Not fun and cheery.
I'm sorry you did not find the arrangement suitable. Your daughter had placed the order online; as a designer's choice vase arrangement with no specifications . As I explained over the phone when i spoke to you; when there is no direction for the designer, the designer uses their artistic abilities and creates a suitable arrangement to value of the order. If your daughter had stated fun and cheery; you would have received that type of arrangement. As for the hydrangeas; we use them in the floral industry in arrangements all the time. I'm sorry the ones you received died so suddenly (which is typically not the case); but I gladly offered to replace them . At Turleys if something isn't right; we will make it right. Since you did not want replacement flowers; i promptly refunded your daughter. At Turleys great care goes into each and every order. Next time with a little direction, you will get an arrangement suitable to the sentiment.

Negative experience: I order regularly from Turley’s. The past two orders have been poor experiences. I ordered flowers to be delivered to both mothers the day before Mother’s day. One mother received flowers, the other did not. The next day to correct the mistake. Both mothers were delivered flowers. One late, the second received a second bouquet which confused her (due to medical issues and receiving a second set). No one contacted me from Turley’s to explain the situation. Again, I ordered flowers and three balloons for my mother’s birthday. They were to be delivered the next day. I asked for AM delivery. Nothing? I contacted Turley’s by phone and social media, again no response. But instead my credit card was authorized shortly after I called. Very poor service, takes payment without delivering on time, no communication with customer to explain why services are lacking? Will not use this florist again. Do not recommend.
I'm sorry for the bad experiences you've had the past two times. At Mother's Day; we do experience high volumes of orders; and with that ; human errors and mistakes happen. We do try to rectify any issues that may arise in a timely manner. We don't always have the staff to contact the sender to explain the situation; and for that I'm truly sorry.
As for the second situation, our website CLEARLY states we are closed Saturdays for the summer. Therefore, a Saturday delivery at ANY time would have been impossible. Looking at the order; it could not have been delivered on Friday; since our delivery person had already gone home for the day. Credit cards are always AUTHORIZED; NOT charged at the time of placing the order. our shop only charges a customer's card once the delivery is completed at the end of the day. When your mother refused to accept the delivery; I promptly cancelled the order; and your card was NEVER charged. We at Turleys strive to offer the best, longest lasting flowers ; along with superior customer service. Being human, we do make mistakes; and we offer sincere apologies when errors are made. Sorry!

Fantastic experience: Turleys did my wedding bouquets and boutonnieres and did a beautiful job! I had asked for camellia leaf, pink rose, lavender, and chamomile for a tea themed bouquet and asked her to use her creative expertise to fill in the rest for a wildflower look. She exceeded my expectations! I am so happy with how everything turned out.

Positive experience: Disappointed with the product and service. My Sister ordered a floral basket to be delivered for my birthday. She is currently in Holland. The basket arrived on my birthday and in my thank you to my Sister I took a photo of the basket. When my Sister saw the photo she realized it was not what she had ordered and contacted the shop. She was told that they didn’t have any floral products available but had substituted with a larger basket! Please, a Florist has no flowers for an ordered basket! I would not have known about the discrepancy if I hadn’t sent off a picture. One has to wonder whether this type of substitution happens frequently on orders. I doubt she will use this Florist again and I will be passing “the word” locally.

I'm sorry you and your sister were not happy with the PLANT BASKET you received. The order placed was for a plant basket, NOT a floral arrangement. At the time, we had no flowering plants available to make up your sister's website order. Since the order came from the UK, and I could not get ahold of her before the delivery date, I made the decision to substitute a planter basket of greater value with colorful foliage plants. Our website clearly states we will make substitutions if product is unavailable. We always carry a nice variety of cut flowers , and tropical plants; and we are ready to make up any request for any value. Sometimes , due to availability of stock, a substitution is unavoidable. Birthdays are important events to us, so we wanted to get your gift to you on your birthday. I have since removed the plant basket from the website, to avoid future issues. I hope you will enjoy the planter basket of beautiful foliages and think of all the good birthday wishes your sister sent with it.
Negative experience: Service has not been the same since the change in ownership - in fact it's terrible. My last order came with a Vase that I didn't ask for nor need and the ladies yelled at me from the back "you need to say cut flowers... you didn't say cut flowers". Since much of the cost went to their vase, the bouquet was much smaller than expected. Then the lady at the till told me that this was better anyways. Unbelievable. They don't seem to value a customer nor care about the customer experience. When Turley's was named after it's owners, every interaction was a reflection of them and it was always first class. The folks working their now have no sense of customer service or class... it's too bad. If you want nice flowers, there's lots of places to shop. If you want a positive experience, avoid this place - I know I will now!
I'm sorry you did not have a positive experience on your last visit. The designer that prepared your order was told you wanted a sympathy bouquet. That being said; we always do sympathy arrangements in vases; since the last thing the bereaved need to think about is finding a vase for a bouquet of flowers. Stating you would like a handtie, wrap or cut flowers would have gotten you flowers without a vase. We could have wrapped the arrangement for you on the spot, by taking it out of the vase and adjusting the price accordingly. At Turleys we try to fulfill our customers orders to the best of our abilities. I apologize if you were "yelled" at . We just try to educate our customers to better understand exactly what they want to order; so they are not disappointed.

Negative experience: I don't purchase from florists often (two times in six years). This one came HIGHLY recommended, especially after a rather terrible experience at a different florist. I chose the rosy swirls arrangement as a gift for Mother's Day. I chose delivery to my home address to make things easy and to stay within the delivery zone. I phoned the business the morning of and told the employee who answered that I had my order number on hand and asked if she could check the status. She said, "Status? Okay." I provided the number, to which I was rebuffed with a response of "We have 150 orders today". I realize I ordered on a busy weekend, and I offered to come by and pick them up, if they were still at the shop. I had no intention of asking for a refund on the delivery fee, since that was all on me and my planning. I was then told "I don't know where it is, I'm sorry". So, that told me that my order was lost. Thankfully, that wasn't the case because the order arrived around 3 PM that day. The arrangement was stunning and was exactly as advertised on the website. Unfortunately, this all led to me arriving to lunch reservations with my mother-in-law empty handed and the flowers never having reached their intended recipient. The quality of their work is excellent and you won't be disappointed. However, the customer service I received was less than stellar. So, I don't know if I'll be a returning customer.

I'm terribly sorry for your experience at Turleys. I had a few new faces helping out for Mother's Day that might not have known how to answer your questions about your order. Since the flowers got delivered; I'm assuming it was out on one of our three vans at the time. The employee should have looked it up and told you it was out on delivery. I'm glad you were happy with the floral arrangement; but saddened by the disappointing delivery process. Mother's Day is our busiest holiday of the year and errors are bound to arise.. Please accept my sincere apology for the mix up. Could you contact the shop with your order number so I can rectify the situation?

Fantastic experience: I ordered a dozen roses one day in advance and when I picked them up I was blown away. Their attention to detail was impeccable and you could clearly see the thought and consideration that went into assembling the bouquet. The staff are wonderful and they far exceeded my expectations.

Negative experience: We stopped by because we wanted to pick up a little something for someone we were going to see today. Two ladies greeted us, and we asked what $20 could get us. We certainly had no unrealistic expectations about our options, we juat wanted to walk out with whatever they could offer us so that we could brighten someone's day. Unfortunately, one of the ladies right off the bat said, "Not much." You can imagine how that made us feel. The other lady very sweetly tried to smooth that over by saying they could give us several flowers and dress them up with greens. But then the other lady had to reiterate that "it won't be much". So we walked out and got flowers at Country Grocer unstead. We understand that our budget was meager, but that level of shaming and disrespect was unwarranted. Today we only had $20 but sometimes we have $200. Just something that staff should keep in mind.

Fantastic experience: I ordered some flowers for a relative in Nanaimo over the phone from England and Vanessa who took my call was so incredibly friendly and helpful. It was such a relief to chat with her as I wasn't too sure what to have in the bouquet as they needed to be deer repellent, or any idea about prices in Canada for flowers. I ordered the flowers based on her advice and I have now received photos of them and they are absolutely wonderful, exceeding my expectations. I'm so glad I chose Turleys, and they will absolutely be my 'go to' Nanaimo florist in the future.
Fulfilling special requests is something we try to accommodate; especially for out of town customers that can't see our beautiful arrangements in person. We find it a fun challenge to learn about things as "deer resistant" flowers; so we can send out memorial arrangements to gravesites that will outlast the wildlife. It was a pleasure making this a possibility.

The bouquet was delivered and the arrangement was beautiful. I was well informed throughout the process regarding the cost and the actual delivery time.
