Springfield Florist, Chelmsford

Negative experience: Absolutely awful experience!! I got in contact via email with the florist to request a floral arrangement for a funeral, to which the correspondence was poor and I was constantly waiting ages for a reply. In the end I called to place the order and was very specific about the arrangement I wanted, they were bright and I knew my late nan would have loved them. On the day of the funeral, we received the flowers at the crematorium and they were absolutely nothing like what I'd asked for. Now I can understand certain flowers being unavailable due to the season, but the whole thing was completely off. I'm not sure a single flower was the same as what was asked for. As well as this, several of the flowers were already dead, and many had been placed into the base with wires pushed through their stems, meaning when the base was watered, these flowers got none of it so were dying at a rapid pace. When I contacted the florist to express my disappointment, showing them all pictures to show how awful the product we received was, the responses took days to receive, often having to chase up with several emails. When responses were finally given, the florist was rude and dismissive, stating the flowers were perfect when they left the shop, yet somehow were half dead the same day. According to the florist, what we received was incredibly accurate both looks wise and value wise, which considering we payed over £80 for what turned out to be a load of foliage, is incredibly disappointing. You would expect there to be a level of professionalism when it comes to dealing with a grieving customer, however this just isn't the case and they will do nothing to rectify their issues. Will never use again as incredibly let down with not only the quality of product, but the immense unprofessionalism and rudeness of staff. First website image is what was asked for and agreed on with the florist, being told specifically 'it will be very accurate' and the second image is what was received. Very dull and lacking so many flowers. Do not recommend at all!! Save your money and go elsewhere.

Negative experience: A VERY DISAPPOINTING experience! We approached Jemma at Springfields florist to see if she could do my Father In Laws funeral flowers. The correspondence we had was via email as we live in Lincolnshire. After deciding on which tribute style the family wanted to go for and very detailed email correspondence, including the request for 2 tribute cards and being charged extra for additional cacti / succulents, Jemma assured us that everything was in hand and that they would deliver them to Chelmsford funeral directors on the day of the funeral so that they could go in the funeral car. On the day only 1 tribute card was on the arrangement, needless to say my Sister in Laws card wasnt which was very upsetting. On contacting Jemma we were told that it must have been forgotten and she would try and get hold of the driver to bring one down. By the time this was done the funeral had finished and the guests had already left the crematorium. On contacting Jemma on the day, we got no apology or anything by way of compensation and her attitude was very dismissive. We would NOT recommend her.

Website was clear and easy to navigate and when I called with a question the woman who I spoke to was amazing, really informative and professional and following on from this great customer service they produced a really beautiful funeral arrangement that received lots of compliments. Fantastic experience: My mum and I popped in the shop interested in getting a bouquet of silk flowers. The ladies in the shop recommended we brought in our own vase for them to arrange the flowers in for us and we absolutely love the end result. The ladies were lovely and the process was very easy and fast! We gave a few suggestions of what we liked and both bouquets are absolutely stunning! So happy and would recommend to everybody looking for anything similar!

Fantastic experience: Honestly the best florist experience I have ever had! I called them up with an extremely last minute order for some pick-me-up flowers and chocolates for a relative. I live 100’s of miles away so I was in desperate need of their help and support. I asked for a happy bouquet of flowers with a budget of £25 and asked if they stocked chocolates - which they did. They had the order delivered within two hours and the care they took on presentation was honestly nothing short of amazing! The bouquet was wrapped in tissue paper and plastic with a beautiful bright yellow ribbon. The chocolates were wrapped in brown eucalyptus paper adorning the same bright yellow ribbon. A card was also included in which they took a verbal message which they hand wrote in the card. I often leave reviews on Google to share wonderful experiences I have had but I also rang personally to thank them - that’s how amazing they were!! Would 10000% recommend this florist under speed, price, presentation and really going above and beyond!

Jemma and the team did such a brilliant job of bringing our vision to life. The flowers were absolutely stunning and exactly what we had asked for - they looked even better than we had pictured. Jemma and her team created the flower displays and flowers for my daughter's wedding and they were the best wedding flowers I have ever seen and we have had numerous positive comments from the guests about them. The owner of the venue asked about them as well because she was so impressed. They were natural looking displays created for two medieval barns and were rustic, seasonal, tasteful and colourful. They also incorporated living plants that the bride and groom can keep for their garden. After having Jemma's flowers I would never go anywhere else. Magnificent!

Negative experience: I wish the shop owner would stop parking illegally and causing issues for residents with legitimate parking spaces. Apparently she does it all the time. It's totally selfish and really puts people out.

We discussed with Jemma the colour of our suits and she instantly knew the best flowers and arrangements that would complement them. The marquee and the ceremony location looked stunning and we had so many comments from guests on the flowers, the colours and the artistic vision that came together so perfectly. Jemma and her team arrived on time, set up without fuss and were extremely professional in their manner and communication. It was no problem when we unfortunately had to postpone our wedding due to the covid situation. Fantastic experience: We recently, sadly, had a double funeral for my in-laws and Springfield florist were chosen for the excellent advice given. We specifically wanted a football tribute that also contained the white rose of Yorkshire to go on one of the coffins. They explained that this normally would not happen so we were able to speak with the funeral directors to ensure it would. We were delighted to see the end result of both the football and double ended spray we ordered with all the flowers requested. I would not hesitate in recommending them, not just for the beautiful arrangements but the kind and considerate advice given. Top marks!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing florist. Have used Springfield florist for years, from doing our wedding flowers to Christmas wreaths and Christmas decorations, I wouldn't go anywhere else. In recent months they have delivered flowers to family members for me which has cheered them up so much in these difficult times and also put a big smile on my son's face on his birthday by providing a big birthday balloon. Jemma goes above and beyond with her service and her flowers are always stunning.

Negative experience: I've had a very rough time during lockdown.. including an assault from a stranger, my husband delivered me flowers as a surprise to pick me up a bit, as soon as i got inside i noticed a big spiders nest in the eucalyptus i was absolutely horrified especially being petrified of spiders, this completely brought me into a breakdown especially with everything else now having to deal with this on my own, the florist didnt seem sorry at all and i've been really effected by this, as you can see the baby spiders started to hatch into my bouquet, i will ensure my husband never uses this business again now, its completely unacceptable to bring this into someones home...all they needed to do was check and i have no idea how this was missed!!! the spider also looked like a false widow. AVOID.

Fantastic experience: Flowers for my mother's funeral were stunning. We had the coffin spray in yellow and purple, the purple hydrangea heads were huge and perfect, and instead of lilies we asked for white orchids. There were far more orchids than I expected for the price and it looked absolutely amazing. I will definitely use them again if we have any sort of event in Chelmsford area. Negative experience: Do not use this florist for your wedding or funeral. It cannot be trusted to deliver what it promises. No one obviously checks the flower orders before they go out to the customer or else I would have got what I ordered with the owner of the florist, in person, in the shop...and I was actually given a sample to take away! Unfortunately, I was not able to give my partner the send off I wanted because the florist did not deliver the 60 short stemmed white roses, tied with ribbon, that I had ordered to be given out with the order of services and for which I paid £120. Instead the florist delivered a bucket of really tall roses with no ribbon that the funeral directors naturally mistook for flowers for the hearse. Thankfully the funeral director found scissors so that myself and my family could dry and cut the stems to the right size in the 10 minutes before the hearse left for the funeral service. There was no apology from the florist, no offer of compensation, no word at all. Absolutely awful service which exploits you at a time when you are most vulnerable. You have been warned.

Fantastic experience: After being recommended Springfield Florist, I decide to enquire with them about my wedding flowers. I had an initial meeting with Jemma, who was so helpful and knowledgeable, and knew our venue inside out! This was so helpful as we didn't know exactly what we wanted. Jemma and the team exceeded all expectations and created wonderful bouquets, centre pieces and decorations for us. Our venue looked stunning with all of the flowers that Springfield Florist provided for us! I left a lot of decisions down to Jemma, as I was confident that she would create something that I loved - which she did! I was so pleased with everything that Springfield Florists did for us and will be using them again! I would highly recommend them for wedding flowers!

Negative experience: I received a bouquet from Springfield florist yesterday afternoon, ordered by a family member. It is the poorest bunch of flowers I have ever received! A stem of blue hydrangea in the centre of the bouquet is already dead and shrivelled, less than 12 hours after receiving them. There were 11 "green leaved shrubbery type stems which made up more than half the bunch. I'm very disappointed that my son and daughter-in-law have spent their hard earned money on this. Aldi and Lidl do better bouquets for £3-£4 although they don't, of course, make deliveries. Cannot recommend Springfield Florist. A very poor effort!

Springfield florist contacted me (I live in France) and the delivery was made on the Monday with no extra costs involved. Thank you very much for your excellent service. Have had two white rose bouquets of best quality, beautifully arranged with lovely touches. Service and friendliness of highest order. They also made for us from a scant idea two outstanding silk floral bouquets. Have just ordered another bouquet for a friend, great friendly service again. In current times of exorbitant prices and couldn't care less service it is refreshing to see great people like these
