Negative experience: I was looking to buy some gardenias for my end of life care mum. A friend told me about Stems. I went in and asked if they have some. Was told they don't get them thinking I could order some. I asked where I could get some given I would have thought brudes would have them in bouquets as my mum had. She said I could ask at some other florists but there's no one open. Asked if she could give me their names as I'm not from Ballarat. I was told to google them! Stems don't supply them so what is the problem.

Negative experience: I have been a florist for 35 years, and was up in Ballarat, visiting friends i googled florist wholesale which brought me to stems flower market, perfect I thought, I rang and explained i was a florist and the situation of wanting some flowers for friends to which the gentleman replied no you can't have them wholesale on one offs, I thought this would have been a great introduction to see what they do supply etc etc now little does he know i do a lot of functions and weddings around this area which would be great save bringing everything up from Melbourne all the time, unfortunately some people do not realise the amount of money that they possibly could make with orders, very dissapointed with the attitude and brush off, business no matter how small or big, very upstairs florist!!!!!!

Negative experience: Hire better drivers!!! Not sure how great it is for rep when your company van drivers don’t indicate and cut people off when they can’t follow directions and end up in the wrong lane

Negative experience: As a customer of Stems for the past 15 years, I am extremely disappointed in not only the quality of flowers we’ve received but also the ‘customer service’ The first image is of the example off their website of what we ordered and second is what we received (which we had sent to our daughter as a surprise) and so was quite embarrassing. I understand putting in maybe one or two unopened bulbs in the bunch but not majority- as the image on the website does not dictate that but that of ‘Giant gorgeous poppies’ When we approached the store in person to discuss our dissatisfaction we were met with ‘the internet photos are not my problem, tell the owners’ in quite a careless tone. We said we wanted them replaced and were given a very basic bunch of flowers (not more of the actual flower we originally purchased and were only given 2 of) We are extremely disappointed and won’t be returning to Stems anymore!

Positive experience: Staff were great and helpful. Long time since I've bought flowers. Hence the 4 not 5 star. They are expensive. But lovely.

Fantastic experience: Stems (actual Ballarat florist) excelled itself and quickly delivered the most glorious bouquet of Australian native flowers!! In addition, they sent a photo text of the bouquet to us to verify that it had been delivered to our friend. 5+ Stars

Negative experience: Hesitated writing this for a month because I have never sought a business to review and definitely never attempted to do so negatively - but after I heard of a similar encounter from someone this past week I am going to. Came into Stems to purchase a few different bunches and staff were eager to help - but one member made the experience negative. I’d like to give this team member the benefit of the doubt as everyone has bad days but their general personality type leads me to believe this behaviour occurs regularly and goes unchecked. Some commentary was made that was entirely unnecessary and condescending. I’m not entirely sure which set of business practices encourage the exasperated moralising and faux moral superiority the staff member was employing but as far as sale tactics go it was certainly lower rung. The biggest problem though, is the rest of the encounter was as normal so they truly must not see a problem with it! The whiplash going straight from that part of the encounter to a mostly pleasant discussion when selecting and arranging the flowers was something. The flower arrangements themselves were lovely as always which was commented on by the people gifted them. I do not doubt the care and expertise of the people in the store. Nor do I doubt that the staff in question sets out to intentionally make customers uncomfortable but speaking to one of the floral recipients about it, they themselves were able to describe the staff member to me and recount a similar experience. I hope to give Stems another chance and therefore would happily adjust my review but for now I unfortunately feel the need to express this.

Positive experience: Great choice of flowers.

Negative experience: Went to pick up the bunch of flowers I ordered a week ago only to be told they weren’t there. I was made a bunch to replace it but it didn’t have wat I ordered in it. I ordered a week early so I could get the correct coloured roses I wanted and specifically asked if it would be ready as I was picking them up and my way home from work to surprise my wife on our anniversary.

Fantastic experience: Received flowers from Stems for my birthday and the flowers were not only gorgeous but lasted so well! Over a week (closer to two-with water cleaning and stem trimming). So impressed and happy with flowers! Thank you!

Negative experience: $75 bunch of flowers and this is the result 4 days later! After care was followed correctly as per usual. Disappointing to be paying that amount of money to be only having to throw them out days later. Even more disappointing when I have messaged twice on the Facebook page and left on seen both times.

Fantastic experience: Although their website is a bit tricky and not that user friendly, (I had to call them twice), the arrangement and delivery was spot on. They sent a photo of the arrangement which was delivered at the time I suggested, and the recipient liked it very much.

Positive experience: I would give 4 stars if only they charged me the right amount... second time they have done this to me, so I can only assume everyone else too. They charge you $20 for a bouquet that has $19.99 on it. Sure it's $0.01 but it's the principal. If you pay by card, there's no reason to round up the amount. So out of principal, you lose a star.

Negative experience: Flat rate delivery for up the hill is $13+. Despite this, delivery staff are irate about having to wait at the concierge to deliver flowers as my govt office can't accept deliveries on my behalf. I can appreciate the frustration. However, I can not appreciate the delivery driver giving my staff a telling-off for (regrettably) taking too long to come down to the lobby, stating, "we have to call it on doing deliveries here". They have every right to decline to provide this address with their service, but she didn't need telling off for the whole building. She is one of the hundreds of tenants from one of the multiple agencies in this office building, not their representative and I don't appreciate it. Flowers aren't always delivered for happy occasions, so additional negativity isn't appreciated, so I won't be using stems again, not even from home where I'm ~allowed~.

Fantastic experience: Very helpful with gorgeous bunches of flowers.

Negative experience: My husband occasionally likes to buy me a bunch of flowers inparticular when we have had a sad time. The only time he can go in is Sundays and EVERYTIME he comes home from Stems at least half the flowers in the bunch are pretty much dead and even with trimming stems, soaking(depending on flower) exhausting every florists trick im lucky to get 3 days before there heads drop. Last Sunday he spent a decent amount on a bunch obviously pre made sometime during the week and the most expensive part pink roses were already drooping and all petals brown. I have had to tell him no more from stems as he thinks he's doing the right thing and unfortunately doesn't know much about flower's, im tired of him bring ripped off. Please don't give me a message how your flowers are fresh EVERY day as clearly they are not. And yes you make bunches up to sell but unfortunately if they don't and some in the bunch have deteriorated either replace, sell for much less. In short he payed a fortune for 3 stems of lillies. Unfortunately I'm not the only person who has had this after talking to people.

Negative experience: I have never rubbished a Ballarat business before but if I get ripped off and blatantly lied to by the male owner it has to be done! My advice is to never shop at stems flower mart in Mair st and check your account after your purchase.why would I bother writing this review if it’s not true?why would I bother? The owners reply is such lies and I may take him to court about it.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful flowers, so efficient with deliveries, friendly and considerate. Any time I visit they assist me in picking the best bouquet for whomever it’s for. And then I always get myself something too - they have the best range at great prices. Such a beautiful store and great customer service always.

Positive experience: The experience was great and product was beautiful, but value for money was lacking. Stems put together my bridal bouquet and I felt very confident during the process. The let down for me was the size of the bouquet for $200 - my thoughts when it arrived was "is that all?". After putting together the flowers that come separately bunched to decide on the colour combination in our consult, I thought we were talking about a much larger bouquet for that price, given the individual bunches (with way more flowers/foliage) would have been about $150. I get that I am paying for someone's tallent + materials and some overheads, but unfortunately, product and the price did not line up.

Negative experience: We ordered a sympathy bouquet from STEMS on Monday, to be delivered to a residence on Tuesday. The order was for 12 perfect white gladioli and a bunch of white oriental lilies to be delivered in a vase, at a cost of $112 including delivery. The delivered bouquet included 3 or 4 white gladioli, a couple of stems of white oriental lilies, white roses and several moth-eaten green leaves! To rectify this, I had to go in myself, choose the correct flowers and deliver them myself. And my card had been removed from a sealed envelope! SO DISAPPOINTING! You have lost me forever STEMS!
