Expérience fantastique: Robin, I cannot thank you enough My wedding florals were absolutely stunning and exceeded anything I’ve ever dreamt of! Robin is so insanely talented - I have had SO many compliments on my florals! But, she was so much more than a “florist”, she was a designer, planner, and decorator! From layout to venue selection she was with me through it all. Her communication was incredible - responsive, honest, and direct which was invaluable when making (what felt like life altering) decisions! I shared my vision, she created a vision board to confirm my thinking and she took it from there! She literally designed it all and provided all the decorations that accompanied the florals (e.g., pillars, vases, etc.). The planning was truly stress-free and I didn’t have to go searching for any decorations because she provided all the rentals! The wedding day would NOT have been the same without her. She set up the ceremony venue (literally built it all on-site!!), magically took it all down and transferred it to the reception venue (across the city) without anyone noticing so that by my arrival (45 min later) it looked perfect (repurposing all the florals!), and she did all the tear down as well! Everyone says the day of is so hectic…but thanks to Robin, that was not my experience. Similar to the planning, I shared my vision and made a timeline, she executed everything with precision and I didn’t even have to think about it! I was able to enjoy the day from start to finish, completely stress-free (and I didn’t have a wedding planner or a day-of coordinator!). Robin is the best in the business and I cannot recommend her enough.

Expérience négative: My dad passed away. I had just gotten home from funeral arrangements. I got a phone call from “Robin” who asked if I would be home to accept a delivery. I said yes. My plant arrangement was delivered by an independent operator. He gets 5 stars for his compassion, patience and helpfulness. When he gave me the plant there was no card enclosed. When I asked him who the plant was sent from, he did not know. Then, he pulled out a crumpled piece of small paper from his pocket with my number, address and the name of my employer scribbled on it. The plant arrangement consisted of a large, white globular pot filled with heavy, wet soil. In the soil were two plant stems, one a Boston Fern with three leaves and the other an equally sparse small plant stem, surrounded by pebbles to support the stems. Between the two plant stems, towered one micro thin blade of ornamental grass, beige in colour, with tiny feathered leaves. The plants were drooped over, as was the blade of grass which looked dried out. I told the driver I would not accept it as I did not think my employer would order such a plant. He offered to return it to the florist and I thanked him. I then called the florist to let her know what had occurred. I told her I was in the midst of funeral arrangements for my beautiful dad and I told her my employer was sending me a plant to comfort me, but I didn't think it was fair to accept a plant that was so lacking in life and so sparse and then to have it charged to my employer. She was offended, saying that she herself had made that arrangement and indignantly told me had she known my “style” she may have considered a different one, suggesting I was a hard-to-please person. I said I was sorry to offend her, didn't mean to and could we just negotiate another plant or flower arrangement. She told me she was fulfilling an order for an out-of-town florist (my employer's) and she would ask them and get back to me. She never got back to me. Instead, my employer had to have an employee drive to the city (4o minutes away) to pick it up. I am assuming there was no refund offered. And I never heard back from her. For me, this business owner lacks compassion and diplomacy and I would not recommend them. Such lovely online pictures and such wonderful reviews, but this was not my experience.

For those that want the TL/DR in advance - G&B is overall amazing and 100% worth your business - the owner Robin is a brilliant artist who puts genuine love and care into her work. For the rest that may want more detail: Wedding Flowers - I had a vision for my wedding (kind of ethereal, fantasy, soft but dark for an October wedding) but no clue what I wanted for flowers, and really wasn't even sure what colors I wanted. Robin at G&B took the wedding theme I gave her and sent me some example ideas that were beyond dreamy and fit right in with my theme. However, I was not expecting the flowers to be so insanely beautiful and perfect. Customer service was also amazing throughout the whole process, from designing and ordering to pick up. Workshop - I did one of the terrarium workshops and it was so much fun! We learned how to put together and take care of the plants in our terrarium. When I left mine with a family member while on vacation and they accidentally turned it into a swamp I reached out to Robin and she told me how to save it - made my day. I will definitely be returning for a future workshop. Floral Preservation - One of the coolest services. I am currently having my wedding bouquet preserved in resin. G&B will counsel you on which flowers work best for the different preservation types they do and give you plenty of time and space to decide on what you want. PLEASE keep in mind if you use these services they take a long time - this is not a fast art - it takes patience and precision. Shopping - the brick and mortar and online store are full of tons of cute items from plants to decorations. If you are in the area, stop by and check it out, you won't regret it.

I sent her a couple pictures of what I liked and what she created was so much better than I could have imagined. There wasn’t a single detail that I would have changed. My bouquet was so perfect. I told her that I wanted some kind of backdrop at the end of the aisle and she created the most beautiful floral arch I’ve ever seen. I decided to leave it in place for the reception and everyone loved using it as a photo backdrop - she even made it look fantastic from the back so we had two different looks. She was super accommodating of my budget and gave me exactly what I was looking for and then some. She made everything so easy and stress free - if she hadn’t told us she had other weddings the same weekend I truly would never have guessed. She came back to our venue after the ceremony to rearrange and again the next morning to pick up the rentals. I’ll exclusively order flowers from her from now on.

I love the potting service that they provide so I can get a pot and a plant there and not have to do it myself. There is an incredible variety and the plants are beautiful, not to mention all the other cool items in the store. This shop has been reliable and kind to me over the years! If you want to show someone they are special to you, Grow and Bloom is a great shop! The amount of love that goes in to an arrangement really shows.

One time, I came 10 minutes before close and the staff, although closing, was still eager and very helpful in finding the correct arrangement for my partner. I highly recommend Grow & Bloom!!

Same from my end when it came to delivery. They were so kind and clearly love what they do. And the arrangement was stunning and lasted almost two full weeks (following the instructions of course).
