7 Flowers & Tea

Positive experience: We got our wedding bouquet and boutonnière from 7 Flowers in early April the morning before our wedding. I was really happy with my flowers - I felt like they captured the vision I was going for and for a “small size” bouquet, I was pleasantly surprised to see it was bigger than expected. We weren’t able to get them in water until many hours later once the wedding had ended, however the flowers perked up again once in water. The only downside was unfortunately the quality of the boutonnière. Before I had even pinned it to my husband I had removed some limp flowers. As the night went on (like due to bugs and what not), the boutonnière began to shift a lot and had gone very askew - I wonder if it the core flower heads could have been secured better to the base.

Fantastic experience: Se vi siete chiesti se esista il punto d'incontro tra una sala da tè e un fiorista, la risposta è questo locale, che è una gioia per gli occhi e per il palato. Abbiamo assaggiato un earl grey e diviso uno scone nel bel mezzo di un pomeriggio di inizio agosto e questo è il risultato: una splendida presentazione della bevanda calda più apprezzata a queste latitudini, con tanto di clessidra per calcolare il tempo di infusione. Assolutamente da provare.

Fantastic experience: I finally found a place in Reading that does unsweetened hot matcha latte, I've been to other bubble tea shops/ tea shops and I was dissatisfied to find out their matcha were made from sweetened matcha powder with milk. Authentic matcha should be bitter. Recommend this place for those who want unsweetened matcha.

Fantastic experience: Wow. I had visited once before but when I needed to book afternoon tea for a group of 7 I wasn’t sure what to expect. We were thrilled. For £26 (paid in advance) we had a choice of any drink on the menu, 3 x mini quiche, 3 x canapé, scone with cream & jam plus 3 x cakes. All beautifully presented and delicious. The girl who served us was friendly & welcoming. I will definitely be back

Fantastic experience: An oasis of calm in the centre of Reading. This was a beautiful find, a great place to enjoy peace and quiet with a lovely tea menu. Reasonably priced with a great variety of unusual hot and iced teas (I had an iced lychee oolong). I didn't try a cake but I'm sure they'll be lovely too.

Negative experience: Don’t go there for floral arrangement — asked for a bouquet, was told off because there were sitting customers. All they could offer was a collection of one sort of flowers, no bouquet. Really disappointing

Positive experience: Definitely an underrated spot in Reading. There’s a flower shop corner of the café which makes it unique from others in town. Tea is served in a quaint tea set with sieves and little spoons for sugar cubes. If you don’t mind a slightly dimmer interior (which actually feels nice on a rainy day)- this coffee shop is worth a stop.

Positive experience: Lovely setting for Afternoon Tea. Good choice of teas and service was fine but sandwich selection is poor especially if you are vegetarian. Four sandwiches - three of which are egg and one cheese. My daughter is pescatarian and stated this clearly on 3 separate occasions prior to the date booked. However, she was given the vegetarian option and could only watch as the rest of us were given a prawn mayo sandwich as part of our selection. Such a shame as the scones and cakes were very nice.

Fantastic experience: ordered a preserved flower for my partner for valentines day, called up the shop and reserved it over the phone. they even left a sweet little note for my other half. one of the nicest people i've ever spoken to on the phone and just radiated happiness. was the highlight of my day to speak to them and my partner loved the gift. have yet to have tea here but will definitely be returning for all my floral needs and if I ever want to grab a spot of tea. wish I could give more stars. genuinely amazing. thank you 7 flowers team.

Positive experience: Not sure why this place has such good reviews. Walked in and asked if they serve food as looked very quiet and empty. The lady said in a rather rude manner “we don’t serve any hot food, the menu is on the wall of what we have”. When asked if they had scones, she said “we have 2 scones available!” She really didn’t want anyone there. We carried on walking into the neighbouring YayLo and had a great experience there.

Positive experience: I went just for a quick drink. It was good, lovely presentation. Unfortunately the person serving didn't seem to be having a great day, they did seem a little bit rude to other customers. It wasn't blatant, they were just giving off the vibe that everyone was annoying them. And that's completely fair but not something you expect from a service oriented business. I understand that if you're a business that has floral arrangements and coffee to serve it can be annoying to have to cater to customers..but also, I then don't want to come back if I feel like a nuisance. I really want to support this business as I think any independent shop needs all the help it can get, but I just think on this occasion I was letdown. I'd probably leave it as 4 stars if my drink didnt cost as much (£4.50 to £5 for a regular sized tea or hot chocolate). Perhaps I'll come back again and be proven wrong. Perhaps I shouldn't have come at lunchtime when they were busy.

Fantastic experience: Wow, 7 Flowers & Tea is a great hidden gem I found while visiting Reading from London. The shop looks amazing. Very well laid out. The first thing that hit me was the beautiful scent of fresh flowers. The service is also very good (polite & very welcoming) and the tea, tasted was the just as nice as its presentation. If you haven't done so already, then i recommend you try it out. I'll definitely be back the next I visit, but this time I'll stay for a slice of cake.

Fantastic experience: 7 Flowers & Tea was recommended to me by my daughter so I called in for tea and cake on a damp July afternoon. I was greeted by a very nice young man who showed me the board with the various teas. I decided on Lavender and Apple and a slice of chocolate fudge cake. Both were absolutely delicious and I highly recommend them. This little teashop is a gem and I will certainly be back next time I am in Reading

Fantastic experience: I've been a regular here for well over a year now, and I have never once had a bad experience. The staff are all extremely friendly and charismatic, and always strive to interact with customers there even on busy days, whether that be a compliment or having a conversations when it's less busy. They have a wide selection of teas and other drinks, all of which are great alongside a selection of good cakes and the likes. The interior is very well done and it has a nice atmosphere and the flowers really complete the place. If I were to reccomend any place in Reading's Town Centre to go and have a cup of tea or purchase some flowers- it would be 7 Flowers and Tea.

Fantastic experience: It's difficult to find the words to tell you how wonderful 7 Flowers & Tea is. The staff are amazing, cheery, and brighten up your day. The food and drinks are always good. The whole atmosphere brings a huge smile to my face every time I visit. It is definitely worth booking a table if you want to try it out.

It's not really obvious exactly what goes on inside 7 Flowers & Tea (apart from the name), but go inside and it's a gem of place: calm, relaxed, friendly with lovely flower smells accompanied by chilled music. For me though, it was the great staff, two when we visited, that could not have been more helpful. And, the quality of the flowers I bought was fabulous.

Fantastic experience: I hired 7 Flowers and Tea for an afternoon tea for an hen do. I love that you can hire the venue, it makes it feel even more special. The communication during the booking process was amazing, everyone I spoke to was so helpful and it just made the whole process so easy. On the day, Jordan was ever so attentive and such a good host. And of course, the food was GLORIOUS and we all loved the great variety in drink choices. There was so much food, and such a variety to suit all needs and requirements. The venue is beautiful and I couldn't recommend more!

Takes a little finding but definitely worth it! The atmosphere with all the plants and leaves is enchanting as well, even if you're not planning to buy any! Afternoon tea here is just lovely.
