Living over an hour away, I placed an order online and was pleasantly surprised when they were able to accommodate an additional order for a second delivery location. She personally called to let me know the flowers wouldn’t be delivered to the recipients’ rooms until Monday and wanted to ensure they would receive the freshest arrangements possible and asked if was ok to deliver to locations on Monday instead knowing weather could hinder that as well. During the recent snowstorm, they truly went above and beyond. She even confirmed that both recipients were still at their locations before preparing the arrangements, knowing that many deliveries were impacted by road conditions. Both recipients absolutely loved their flowers and sent me photos. I couldn’t agree more. The arrangements were beautiful and long-lasting! Exceptional service and thoughtfulness. I will definitely be ordering from them again.

Fantastic experience: I reached out to George Thomas 4 weeks before my wedding to get 4 arrangements for my Hindu wedding ceremony (and re-used them the next day for our western ceremony). When you’re a bride, you want people surrounding you who respect your vision and can run creatively with your ideas and make suggestions. And when it comes to florals, Kwyn from GTF is that person. She spent 1 hour with me in a consultation, understood exactly what I was saying and designed the arrangement right there with me. It was honestly impressive. The pricing was incredibly fair. And the results? Absolutely delightful. They made me so happy, I wish they had the bandwidth to do my entire wedding florals but that’s on me for not locking them down earlier. I also had 5 floral hair arrangements made, all I said was vintage and red roses - they turned out perfect. Highly recommend for all brides!

Fantastic experience: I am so thankful for George Thomas! My husband had been sick at home, stuck alone, and I wanted to do something nice for him. My first stop was George Thomas because my husband had always talked favorably about their "goofy" commercials growing up. I placed my order online (VERY EASY, BTW) and called to inquire if it were at all possible to have the delivery set for the same day. Asking a lot, the lovely person on the phone informed me that the delivery driver was going the opposite direction and would likely not be able to make it today, but they would ask the drive. Low and behold, the WONDERFUL driver indeed DID show up, and within maybe an hour! She waited patiently as she knew my husband was inside while he gathered up his strength to come to the door. Negative experience: George Thomas in Irvington is absolutely horrible. I honestly don’t know how they’re still in business. There are so many other flower shops that actually care about their customers and deliver real quality for fair prices. This place is outrageously expensive and the flowers look cheap, thrown together, and inconsistent every single time. The customer service from management is pathetic. Nobody seems to know what they’re doing and the attitude you get from management is disgusting. The way they treat their employees right in front of customers is beyond unprofessional. I watched one of the best workers get talked down to and embarrassed for no reason. It made me lose all respect for this business. If you want to waste your money and be treated like you don’t matter, come here. Otherwise, save yourself the headache and go literally anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: This was our first time using George Thomas as our local family owned florists permanently closed. It will definitely not be our last time using them! We ordered a wind chime on a stand with flowers to be delivered to the funeral home for a close friends service. They delivered within the timeframe requested and when we saw the product in person it was very nice and the flower arrangement was beautiful, we were very pleased and will definitely refer them to family and friends.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I cannot say enough positive things about George Thomas Florist! Our center pieces, and altar pieces for our wedding were beyond expectations. Mel was so helpful, and responsive to any and all questions we had. She took my wife's vision, and made it a reality, and the flowers were quite affordable as well! Honestly, you cannot go wrong with them.

Negative experience: My family has been a customer of George Thomas for years. We even trusted them to make arrangements for our daughter's funeral last year. So ordering a bouquet from them for a family member in the hospital was a no brainer for us. They have never left us disappointed! When we went to pick up the order, we were in a hurry and trying to get to the hospital. When we arrived to the hospital room and saw the arrangement we found ourselves disappointed to find that the bouquet looked nothing like what we had ordered. My sister contacted them today to ask for them to make it right and at first it seemed like they were going to remake the flowers correctly. This was until the manager got involved and said that no one has ever complained about their flowers before when picking them up in person (I find this incredibly hard to believe) and refused to remake them. They offered a discount on our next arrangement and I believe that would have sufficed had they not already offered to remake the flowers until the manager said "no" and then went on to be defensive and not sympathetic. The main reason for this post is to highlight the poor response to our complaint and not necessarily the quality of the arrangement. Mistakes happen and we understand that. Their response was to blame us, be defensive, and to say they would no longer make us a new arrangement. Update: Per their response below, they are making a new arrangement and and delivering it later today. We are grateful for their willingness to remake the arrangement. Your response is appreciated!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely phenomenal. I sent flowers to a friend who was having surgery. They delivered them quickly but the front office forgot to give them to my friend before she left. George Thomas located a florist closer to her and worked with them on making sure she received flowers no matter what. They didn't have to do this as the error was absolutely not caused by them in any way. Fantastic experience: I just recently discovered George Thomas Florist while looking to send flowers to a friend who was hospitalized at St. Vincent. Being a lifelong southsider, I'm not familiar with that area. So I initially thought if they offered delivery there, they must be nearby, right? Not at all. But, how awesome that they still offer delivery there. I placed a same day order that morning, and they got it to her across town that afternoon. I returned to their website yesterday in a crunch, hoping to send flowers to my sister-in-law, but fully expecting to be too late to place a same day order. To my surprise, I was able to place a same day order. I received my order confirmation at 11:40am. I would have been thrilled regardless of when they arrived, but imagine my surprise when I got a delivery confirmation at 12:57pm. Obviously, I don't want everyone to expect a 1-hour turnaround time but to say I was impressed is an understatement. Fantastic experience: I picked George Thomas because we use them as our florist at work and their arrangements are always beautiful and last a long time. My husband and I wanted to send my mom some ‘just because’ flowers, and when I went to the George Thomas site I saw a $20 Tuesday same-day special. There were no photos of examples, but the listing said seasonal bouquet. Some of the other (non-vase) bouquets on the site are small and on the simple side, so I really wasn’t sure what to expect, but we decided to try it. The bouquet they sent was bigger than I expected, and very pretty. The purple vase in the photo is my mom’s and not included with the purchase, but I was really impressed with the size and quality for that price. I ordered later in the day so the flowers weren’t delivered till the following day, which I expected because of the time I placed the order (around 1pm). Also I knew at checkout it wouldn’t be till the following day so that wasn’t a surprise. My mom loved them and said they smell wonderful and some are still in bud. They’re a little deeper purple than they look in the photo. I wanted to share in case anyone else comes across that special and was curious for an example as to what they could look like. We’ll definitely be keeping this in mind next time we want to send some!

Fantastic experience: The arrangement that I selected online was pretty, simple and not expensive. I was sent a picture of what was received and what can I say…… Oh wow! This looks so much more prettier in person than the picture. It is way bigger and fuller! The roses are beautiful ! This is definitely worth more than what I paid! Fantastic experience: I would rate George Thomas 6 stars if I could! My grandpa was admitted to the hospital, and being a long-distance granddaughter can be very challenging during times like this. I found George Thomas Florist through a quick google search and saw they did hospital deliveries. I placed the order last night and it was delivered directly to my grandpas hospital room by this afternoon. The flowers and chocolates were perfect and exactly how it looked in the photos!

Fantastic experience: Local florist located in historic Irvington area near the heart of Indianapolis. Always attentive to details and staff are so helpful and friendly. They have a tuesday special that is so well priced; hard to believe these days! And, don't forget to add a couple of delicious cupcakes to your order!!

Fantastic experience: George Thomas Florist put together a beautiful bouquet that had hues of blue for my good friend’s birthday. The arrangement was delivered on time and she was thrilled with her gift of lovely flowers.
