Fantastic experience: Wow, the Kate Dawes team was absolutely incredible. Ulrike and Derric, thank you so much for bringing our vision to life! We felt so lucky to have you and your team creating the most beautiful wedding for us. We first engaged the KD team for our initial 2025 wedding at a different venue that unfortunately burnt down. They were so patient and understanding as we navigated changing both the date and venue, moving everything from Brisbane to Toowoomba. For our April 2026 wedding at Gabbinbar, they created the most celebratory and breathtaking florals. Throughout the entire journey, they were accommodating of our evolving vision, requests, and new ideas, even in the final weeks when we decided to add more arrangements to the reception. Words can’t fully describe how beautiful our day was, or how much the curated florals elevated the entire atmosphere. The colours, the quality of the flowers, the artistry -- everything was beyond stunning. A special mention as well to the bouquet of my dreams! Our guests couldn’t stop telling us how beautiful the spaces looked, and many of the florals were taken home afterwards to be enjoyed in the days that followed. Fantastic experience: The flowers that KD Flowers designed for our special day were beyond our expectation! With very little floral knowledge and a very vague vision of what I wanted the help that they gave me and the overall outcome was astonishing, I couldn’t be happier with how much they helped make my vision come to life on the day. They were experts in making sure that the flowers I wanted matched my colour scheme perfectly. We still get compliments of how amazing my and my bridesmaid’s bouquets were. We were a little worried we’d left things too late 6 weeks before our wedding, but nothing too hard for them — they even joked they’d done quicker turnarounds before, which instantly put us at ease. They were super responsive and professional throughout the process. They provided us with a clear design brief, which made it easy to visualise what to expect on the day, and the final arrangements were absolutely beautiful. We couldn’t have been happier! They were also honest and transparent about costs, and more than willing to adjust the quote to suit our budget without compromising on quality. We felt really looked after and would recommend them to anyone looking for a wedding florist who’s talented, flexible, and a joy to work with.

We contacted Kate for our wedding and gave her an idea of the floral styling we wanted for our special day. After only a couple of emails back and forth and a phone call, Kate had provided us with a plan for how our flowers would look on the day. Following that, we left everything up to her. When we arrived at our venue and saw the flowers, we were blown away. Everything was perfect. Kate came highly recommended by several Brisbane wedding venues, and from our very first conversation and follow-up meeting, we were confident that Kate was the right choice: thorough, detailed, extremely helpful and super lovely to work with. Kate and the KD team were always easy to talk to, any questions we had were answered happily and a colour scheme change along with table layout change was well received and never a problem. Our brief was classic, elegant, formal but with a modern twist, with the scheme being white, black and copper. In the end, honoring the classic white but changing from toffee tones to oranges and peach highlights, we were all far more excited about our new colours, and honestly, they couldn't have turned out any better! Kate travelled to the Gold Coast for our wedding, and we were speechless at how breathtaking our floral arrangements were, especially seeing them repurposed to the Reception. Kate also assisted with other styling arrangements and made us feel confident in our decisions. Choosing Kate and KD Flower Design was the best decision we made!

Negative experience: Extremely upsetting to give any business a one star which I don’t generally do. I booked Kate Dawes in for my wedding, April 2024. Personal circumstances arose, which I did not need to discuss the vendor and I had to cancel my wedding florist. My sister was in communication with them and ask for a refund, which they kindly agreed to. A few emails back and forth, and then they just stopped replying, so I had to send an email myself feeling quite uncomfortable as 4 weeks had gone by. I got told they will do it when I can, and it may come in 2 separate payments. Meanwhile it was only $421, but $421 to me at the moment is a lot of money and it wasn’t something I was just going to let slip by. No communication returned, I got quite upset and decided to go to the fair trading, which I thought was acceptable. The next day I had $400 in my account with no return email or apology. Not to mention I’m still $21 short of my refund. I thought was Kate Dawes was a high-end business and I would’ve expected a lot better communication. I feel belittled, like I was judged by how I looked. Unless this is how they treat all their customers that don’t commit to their booking. The disrespect and lack of care to a customer was disgraceful. It does not take five weeks to get a refund for services that have not been utilised. Emails are not hard, phone calls are not hard! You do not need to treat decent human being the way I was treated. I’m extremely upset.

Fantastic experience: We had the BEST experience with Kate Dawes Flower Design. From the very beginning Kate, Renee & the team were exceptional in helping us plan. We did all of our preparations across different time-zones via zoom, as we were planning our wedding entirely from overseas. They were flexible and understanding as we explained our ideas and dreams for everything with lots of images and references. Our wedding actually included two ceremonies across two dates (Friday & Saturday). They were able to advise us on how to split the florals between our two days of events as well as preparing and packing in a way that meant the Friday florals could be carried to Saturday as well. They also helped in creating an over all theme to connect the two events, as Friday was Western and Saturday was Eastern. Again, with lots of reference images we were able to match both evenings with the same florals which really meant a lot to us both. We wanted it to feel like one big wedding and it certainly did! As for the quality of product, there are hardly words. Kate, you're an incredible artist! Receiving our bouquets Friday morning was such an exciting experience, they were just beautiful. The colours of all of our bridesmaids dresses & brides-dude suit were all coordinated again via zoom, and Kate matched with them perfectly! Once we finally entered our receptions (both Friday & Saturday) we were totally amazed at how well Kate filled the spaces. The roses were just gorgeous and everything was as bright and vibrant as we imagined. Renee, who worked a lot with us behind the scenes was fantastic! We added a few pieces last minute and she was super fast & encouraging about the whole process. Fantastic experience: We booked Kate Dawes for our wedding because right from our initial consultation with her we fell in love! Kate's style, attention to detail and genuine care make her perfect for designing florals for such important moments like weddings. I loved my bouquet and the arrangement of the flowers was gorgeous. I asked Kate if she could attach a pair of earrings to my bouquet (my something old and borrowed) and she paid so much attention to ensuring that the earrings would be visible but also really secure so that I wouldn't have to worry about them falling off.

We left our floral arrangements to last as part of our wedding (which you should never do), and we had seen so many photos of Kate’s work online and always knew her work would be a great inspiration for our wedding design. We initially engaged a different florist when we started our floral planning for the wedding, but it all got too complicated and then we engaged Kate who made everything so easy and simplified! She really took the reins for our project and designed the perfect arrangements for our budget! She made the process so easy and enjoyable, so we could focus on other things so close to the wedding date. She was always so professional in all our dealings with her and very prompt with all her responses! Her flowers really made the wedding and we got more compliments about the arrangements than anything else at our wedding! We honestly couldn’t recommend her enough for all your floral needs!

Fantastic experience: Everyone at our wedding couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful our flowers were! Both Julia and Kate, with lots of careful deliberation came up with a gorgeous inspiration board that made all of the colours at our wedding really pop. Two weeks before our wedding a lockdown was announced and it was in both Kates and our best interest to cancel our original order of flowers. After a sharp lockdown and an ease of restrictions (4 days before our wedding), we were able to go ahead. Given all of this chaos, we cannot believe how incredible our floral arrangements looked with such short notice. Kate really is amazing at what she does! We are forever grateful to Kate and team for all of their hard work throughout the uncertainty of organising a wedding in 2020/2021!
