Negative experience: While there's no denying the beauty of a Long Stem’s arrangement, with my most recent purchase I realized their bouquets do not last longer than a week with some flowers beginning to die the following day. For me, bloom longevity matters more than the overall look of the arrangement because if I can only enjoy the flowers for a few days then what is the point? To charge the high premiums that Long Stems charges they should be promising young flowers in addition to beautiful arrangements. Grocery stores put out new flowers twice a day because they aren't relying on refrigerators to keep their inventory alive. This is the problem with flower shops. Because shops have refrigerators, they aren't replacing the flowers as much as they should be. Their refrigerated arrangements make it so that the flowers look new on the date of purchase but make no mistake, they aren't new. As soon as you remove an arrangement from the shop’s fridge, the blooms begin to decline. I reached out after being delivered an old bouquet and was pleased that Long Stems responded and came back with another one but the second bouquet was another refrigerated arrangement that began to die the following day. At this point I gave up. Sure, there were a couple of unique flowers that couldn’t be purchased in a grocery store but again, not worth it if they don’t last. In the future, I will probably just take a screenshot of a Long Stems arrangement and go to Trader Joe’s and create one that looks very similar. Yes, I’ll spend a bit more having to purchase bunches of each kind of flower but the added expense would be worth it because the flowers will last for 2 weeks. You can replace water and trim ends all you want, the Long Stem blooms will die in days regardless.

Fantastic experience: I live outside the region. Yesterday I looked online for a florist near Bala Cynwyd, found Long Stems, read reviews, and ordered a standard arrangement at a standard price. Today I received this email from the recipient: "Thank you so much for the amazing gorgeous multi-color tulip bouquet! How did you know that Longstems has been the special florist of this neighborhood for decades? Everything they do is fresh, beautiful and presented so attractively." So while I had no intention of posting a review, given that, I feel I should.

I ordered a custom arrangement and said red was her favorite color and also wanted hydrangeas in the arrangement; and something that went with the time of year/season…well, obviously, they killed it!!! The delivery Person was so courteous and apologized for being late. However , I wasn’t expecting such a thoughtful gift so he wasn’t late. Our recent experience was that an anniversary flower arrangement looked very tired by day 3. I called to inform them. They requested photos which I sent. Positive experience: My husband and I live out of state. My husband went to the Philadelphia area to attend a funeral of a dear family member. I ordered flowers on Sunday June 1st to be delivered on Tuesday June 3rd. I specifically put in the notes that the flowers were to be delivered by Noon on Tuesday, the day of the memorial service. My husband said the flowers were brought into the service, while it was going on, which was after 1:00 p.m. How unprofessional was that? I was so disappointed in this business!

Negative experience: Really disappointed. I had a great experience with Long Stems years ago, so when my mom recently turned 60, I recommended your site to family abroad who wanted to send her something special. In total, she received 7 bouquets from different florists, but the one from Long Stems—which cost the most—was the smallest, wilted the fastest, and barely lasted a week. It was especially disheartening since I had vouched for your quality based on past experience. To make matters worse, my sister picked up similar flowers from Trader Joe’s and arranged them herself—hers lasted over two weeks.

Negative experience: Was not contacted about delivery; my girlfriend was, who it was supposed to be a surprise for - so much for that, I guess. Even told the guy on the phone to contact ME and not HER as it was supposed to be a surprise. I was also charged $20 more than I was told I'd be charged. Frickin' scammers. To make matters even worse, the flowers came in a very small vas, and the flowers themselves were also small. Definitely not worth the price. Don't shop here unless you want to get scammed.

We discussed what I would want for our wedding and he took everything down. He said that we could always add or take away up until 3 weeks before the wedding when we do a mockup! I went back and forth a lot with his son, John, over the invoice and things I wanted to add and he couldn’t have been any more helpful. Any question I asked, they answered right away and accommodated anything I wanted to add on! When it came time for the mockup about 3 weeks before the wedding, I went in person to Long Stems. Keith was so gracious and then Heather walked me through what they were thinking of putting together! She had a mockup of a bunch of flowers and took out anything I didn’t want and added in anything I needed. After that, they sent me an updated invoice and anything I decided to change or fix they did no problem!! The day of the wedding they delivered my flowers right on time and just WOW. they were BEAUTIFUL!!!!! It was exactly what I envisioned and I couldn’t have been happier. My bouquet was absolutely perfect and they wrapped it in a handkerchief that i had given them during the mockup. I got married at Villanova University and Long Stems had the flowers in the church match our flowers perfectly!!! Aside from the bouquets, the centerpieces and Any other small arrangements throughout the venue were perfect. Keith’s wife, Anne, touched them all up to make sure everything was in place and she couldn’t have been any nicer!! She came up to the bridal suite to bring the corsages and boutonnieres in and when I started to move things around in the fridge to make room she told me to not worry about it and she would do it because she knew I had enough to do!! She was just so kind and I really enjoyed speaking with her. The entire Long Stems team was so amazing to work with. Not only do they put together beautiful floral arrangements, but they are kind, gracious, and so helpful. Thank you so much Long Stems!!!
