Fantastic experience: Great experience doing a DIY Vase Arrangement class. Would definitely recommend!

Negative experience: The staff here are very rude. I went to the store to buy a bouquet of flowers and the pre-made bouquets were smaller than I wanted. When I asked the staff if I could add a few other stems of a different flower, they said no, they didn’t have any extra stems - I was surprised they didn’t offer an alternative solution. I then decided to combine two of the pre-arranged bouquets they offered to make the arrangement more full! The people in the store seemed annoyed, and didn’t help to make the bouquet look at all presentable (I had told them the flowers were a gift). Before they wrapped it up, I had to step in and arrange the flowers myself. This is my second negative experience with the staff at this store after going in to purchase three bouquets a month ago. I wanted to give it a second chance, but this will be my last time purchasing flowers here.

Negative experience: Really disappointed with the bait and switch nature of this shop. I ordered a mixed bouquet with full sized roses online and received mini roses with one full sized rose. Apparently it's "too busy" for them to fix and I "ordered only an $85 bouquet and each rose is $9" ($96 after taxes) and I should have noted I want full sized roses when placing the order. Tragic service for a bouquet I was buying for my mother. Response to owner: the pictured bouquet showed calla lilies, the received bouquet had carnations (!!). As mentioned in the store I don't consider this a reasonable substitute. This was just one deficiency; when my mom opened the bouquet one of the stems was broken. But why would I bother bringing it to your attention, you obviously don't care. It's very convenient you think your staff was polite and you decided to make it sound like I was demanding an unreasonable resolution. Your reviews should show you how many people are complaining about your service, you should do something about it rather than be dismissive of people who have supported you through the years. Good luck to you.

Negative experience: Very expensive flowers that don't last more than two days. Reached out to management but they didn't care about repeat customers and didn't stand behind their product. Response: hello owner, the timeline in the details you have reviewed are incorrect and your response is as sloppy as the care you put into your bouquets. Your dismissive responses to customers unhappy with your shop say much about you. Of your ten most recent reviews, nine are negative! I had been a repeat customer for years and have really had it with your shop.

Negative experience: Extremely rude staff. They need to learn better manners and serve to their customers. The flowers are very expensive, so, at a minimum, good manners and a welcoming environment would be appreciated.

Negative experience: Extremely rude staff. I went in a couple days ago to get some flowers and I was treated like I was bothering them when asking questions. I left feeling bad and didn’t even buy flowers. Now reading these comments, it seems like a common occurrence. Not sure why they are like this but hopefully they read these comments and don’t just blame it on the customer. They say support local, but why would I pay a premium for local then get treated so rudely?

Negative experience: I purchased a 6 month subscription of flowers and very clearly stated that I didn’t want exotic or wildly colourful flowers in my bouquets- they’re only for me and blending with my decor is important. Further to my note, I called the store shortly after paying for my subscription to ensure they understood- a white bouquet is great for me and no exotic flowers, as they die quick. I grabbed my last bouquet yesterday, and it’s full of colour and exotic plants- two of which nearly dead- this is beyond disappointing. Two months ago, after bringing my flowers home and putting them in water, I realized it looked like a bouquet from the rainforest, I brought it back immediately, still in vase, and again, reiterated my instruction and wanted a new bouquet. Truly wanted to support a local business, they got 1 out of 6 bouquets right. When she told me yesterday it was the last bouquet of my subscription I was relieved- the annoyance of them continually screwing my request is beyond and the fact that it’s 2 weeks from Christmas and I’m looking at a bouquet which resembles a summer hillside says it all. Make the bouquet your customers ask for- not what you prefer. For the $500-600 I spent on the subscription, I would never do it with them again. Business is tough these days and meeting customer expectations should be the priority.

Negative experience: My $165 arrangement was handed to me dripping water through the packaging. There was maybe 1/8 cup water in the vase. No flower food. I topped it up but the flowers all wilted in less than two days. First and last time I buy expensive flowers for myself.... The driver was understandably frustrated not being able to find me, so he was just in a rush and didn't notice the flowers had fallen over somewhere along the line.

Negative experience: Brought home mealy bugs in my plant (hoya), fortunately I spotted them pretty quickly. The plant was hanging in the store so I didn't get to inspect it as the store clerk took it down and bagged it immediately. Had good luck with my other purchases though.

Negative experience: I seldom leave bad reviews, but honestly I have tried this place on many separate occasions and every time the staff is SO rude and cold. This time I visited I was hoping to order the $75 bouquet listed on their chalkboard. The shop was empty, but I was told it would take 15–20 minutes because they had “other things to do we just opened” and also needed time to price the flowers, yet the shop had been open for at least 30min before I arrived. I was surprised by the tone and apologized, not realizing a pre-order was expected. I then agreed to select the flowers myself to speed things up. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t improve. When I asked if we could reposition the flowers in the wrapping slightly, they began to fall out, and my follow-up request to adjust them back seemed to frustrate the staff. I left with a crumpled bouquet that didn’t reflect the $70 I spent. The flowers were decent. While I tried to be polite throughout, the interaction left me confused and disappointed. I was hoping for a welcoming experience but sadly won’t be returning.

Negative experience: Just left this store after I tried to purchase fresh flowers. I came to purchase a custom bouquet for my condo and the lady made a comment about her premiums flower that I was interested in and suggested I didn’t know they were premium or that I would be concerned about the price. Save your money and shop elsewhere. This is a shop that has a limited supply of flowers and poor customer service

Fantastic experience: Really unique place! They also have plantable greeting cards. The service was lovely as well.

Positive experience: First order my fiancé got me was beautiful! But the second order came with many roses blemished/ damaged, unfortunately.

Fantastic experience: Before going I called to ask if they had the specific plant that I was looking for - and I kid you not the person who picked up WAS SO SWEET!! All up to the memory as well? Cause apparently I asked about the sizes they were selling and she knew them off her head, like ummmm GENIUS !!? But seriously, I got such a good deal for a snake plant here, went in today it was quite a cutesy place as well, cause right at the entrance they also have this very demure rose petals laid out to the entrance of the place. Also the staff is genuinely so helpful if you tell them what plant snd what size and etc about your shopping. In all- genuinely very helpful,friendly and good deal for plants, and maybe tiny ecosystem kinda things. Oh! They also have these really cute pots and stuff as well- for your plants!

Negative experience: Highly Unrecommended! This was, without a doubt, the worst florist customer service I’ve ever encountered—especially from the female employee. The experience was nothing short of catastrophic. If I could leave a 0-star review, I absolutely would!

Fantastic experience: I came across Ecostems doing a google search for Pink Poinsettias. I made my order online and immediately received a call from Stephanie saying that they didn't have any pink in stock but they would be in a few days later. And they were, and they were delivered on time. I really appreciated the personal connection. The plants were lovely and healthy and I couldn't be happier. Merry Christmas!!

Positive experience: Mostly professional, has a great arrangement of different plants. Unfortunately I was naive when it came to what mealybugs looked like. The person working in the shop at the time claimed that it was bruising(?) But after a month it's very clear that the plant was infested with mealybugs. I more or less wasted 28 dollars. This shop isn't that bad, just don't make the same mistake as me and really look at the plant you want to buy

Fantastic experience: ecostems made my city hall wedding bouquet last year and it was so beautiful. I still have it dried on our kitchen table in a vase!

Negative experience: I like shopping there for plants and flowers . Great service. But only go there if money is not an issue for you. I was just there and I got a very nice orchid for $75 and I saw the same thing at Costco the next day for 20$. Just the vase was different something to consider.

Fantastic experience: I live in the UK and I needed order a bouquet to be delivered in Toronto for my daughter's birthday. Overall I was pleased with the entire process and my daughter was pleasantly surprised and very happy with her bouguet. Thanks for such a positive experience!

Negative experience: I was given a gift certificate for this florist. Am an avid gardener and have always enjoyed the experience of shopping for plants. But I never have come across such unpleasant, unhelpful and unknowledgeable employees who seemed to have no interest in their clients or their plants. They were surly and rude . My neighbours confirmed they had the same impression and would never go back. Their selection is poor and prices astronomical. So all in all they don't deserve to be in business. When I posted this review I noticed all the other similar testimonials of clients who had the same complaints as I had. Buyers beware.

Negative experience: Inquired about a plant that could live in a bathroom. The shop owner asked if the bathroom had windows, and was immediately deterred by their curt response that anything I put in that room would just die on me. I was not given any suggestions for perhaps a shade-tolerant plant (such as a Pothos or Boston Fern). Instead, they suggested something that was already dead, like dried flowers, with an aside that some people will just keep buying plants to die in their bathrooms and that it was wasteful. I felt pretty judged at the directed comments about just purchasing a plant for a bathroom. Will not be going back. EDIT: Making backhanded comments, augmenting someone's experience to justify the store's service and attacking my character speaks volumes about how this place treats people. Verbatim, the employee said, "Some people prefer to let them die, and just buy new ones every month which is..." After a pause, this leading remark assumed the word wasteful, which I filled in, and the employee agreed. The assumption was not a stretch or insecurity on my part. Get over yourselves.

Fantastic experience: The flowers were absolutely beautiful and the team went out of their way to help me get the delivery on time.

Positive experience: I've been a loyal customer of ecostems for several years, frequently purchasing bouquets and plants for various occasions. The flowers are consistently beautiful, fresh, and well-arranged, which has kept me coming back despite some significant drawbacks. Unfortunately, the customer service leaves much to be desired. The staff often seem unapproachable and at times, outright rude. Each visit feels like it's an inconvenience for them to assist me, which detracts from the overall experience. Given the amount of business I've provided over the years, it's disappointing to feel this way. While the flowers are beautiful, the consistently unwelcoming service has made me decide to start looking for another place for my plants and flowers. It's a shame that such lovely products are overshadowed by poor customer service.

Fantastic experience: Every year we order them from Berlin (Germany) for my mother in-law’s birthday. She lives in Toronto and it’s a nice idea to be present. They are amazing with delivery and it’s a beautiful way to make her birthday a special one. Ordering from overseas is never an issue.

Negative experience: Don't waste your time as a former florist I have never been treated in such a way. The flowers consistently die never lasting more than a day especially their hydrangea. Was given to me already wilted even cutting them they wouldn't and recover and died the next day.. When I informed the larger female who works there and she had rolled her eyes making snarky comments saying I didn't care to them properly. Not only is this EXTREMELY unprofessional as I am a florist. This business should be disgusted by this employees remarks as I was getting flowers for my mothers grave and often get them here.There is absolutely NO need to bully customers, you should be ashamed

Fantastic experience: Watermelon Pepermonia delivered today - the day I ordered. The plant is very healthy and fills the pot nicely. The decorative pot is a light colour as requested and fits well in my living room. On the whole, a great experience. I have made multiple orders and have never been disappointed - always very pleased.

Negative experience: Absolutely overpriced shop. Unfriendly staff. Rip off. Bought two branches of berries with five berries attached for $20.00. Please do not support this shop. Many other better options in the neighborhood

Negative experience: I ordered a bouquet and within minutes I realized that their closing hour was not ideal for me. I called them back and asked if they had already started making the bouquet, and even though they had not, they still could not refund me and offered me a credit instead. Over the next two occasions of me redeeming the credit I found them to be disagreeable. There are much happier places to buy flowers and these ones aren't cheap.

Positive experience: Cute spot with cool interior design, and the fresh-cut flowers look really nice. But they don't have a lot of different plants. A few days after buying, I saw my plants weren't that great, and one of my glass planters broke on its own. Honestly, not worth the price. I might go back for flowers or cacti, but not for other plants.

Fantastic experience: In April I received a bouquet made up of spring bulbs in bloom. After enjoying them indoors for 2 weeks, I moved them to the front porch to share with my neighbours. Now June, the bulbs are all planted in my garden to be enjoyed for years to come. I've since sent bulb bouquets to two friends with gardens. What a wonderful eco-friendly gift they are!

Negative experience: I don’t normally write reviews especially negative ones for a local business. However, I’ve had such a bad experience on multiple occasions in this store which motivated me to write this. The first couple of times I chalked it up to a disgruntled or unhappy employee or someone having a bad day. But it seems that being snooty is one of the criteria for being hired here. Every single associate including the owner is rude and unpleasant. They treat customers as if it’s a privilege for us to spend our money there. I’ve worked in retail and have empathy for the hard work that associates do day in day out. However, customers who want to spend their hard earned money should be treated with more respect and dignity. To the owner and management: buying flowers is supposed to be an enjoyable experience. While you have a great selection, you need to get over yourselves and treat customers better.

Negative experience: Ordered Two Birds of Paradise online. Paid with shipping of $20 at checkout. I got notified today that the shipping quote was incorrect and it is actually $80. I explained this was fine and I wished to cancel my order. Ecostems explained that they can cancel the order but not issue a refund. This is comical. With this policy, any online checkout they can inform you the next day shipping is quadruple and not refund you when you cancel. This was not a large order, not a wedding or event. Do not bother ordering form a business that tries to entrap customers. Good luck surviving Ecostems. To respond to shops post the policies are not clearly visible and furthermore outline special events such as weddings. This is a constant criticism of your business.

Negative experience: I placed an online order with this store and I received one of the plants, it looks nothing like the photos and I was disappointed with the the item. I called the store with into minutes of receiving the item to inform them that it did not look like the images and I did not want a refund. I requested to come into to exchange the product despite paying a delivery fee. The staff on the phone was rude and dismissive and had no solutions of suggestions for me. She stated “I can’t do anything to help if you are not satisfied with your purchase as we don’t do refunds of exchanges, it’s our policy.” The “policy” is no where to be found on their website or on my online order receipt. She said I can try emailing the owner to see if they can resolve my issue, I’ve sent an email and it’s been over a week with no response. For a small business they true don’t care to maintain good customer services considering their prices.

Positive experience: Cute little plant & flower shop. The staff are friendly and attentive to your inquiries. All of their plants look well taken care of and healthy. Definately recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: This a lovely, eco-friendly Toronto florist that sells Ontario grown or fair trade flowers. The quality is spectacular and they deliver too if you're not able to visit their Corktown store.

Fantastic experience: I'm going to gush. Loved my experience with you! Reasonable prices, and great selection and information on the website. For a plant newbie, this was great for helping me choose easy, dog-friendly plants for areas of my apartment that get indirect or low light and a couple of direct light spots. Fast delivery, friendly delivery person, well packaged plants so they were all in good, healthy shape upon receipt. Helpful information cards to go with everything. And I loved the options of size and pot type, which helped me budget.

Negative experience: Not great buying experience, lack of communication and openness about the fact that All things are final sale: No exchanges or returns. So be mindful of the dimensions of what you need before you buy. Don’t trust staff when they tell you the dimensions of what you are buying. Bring a tape measure ;) it’ll save you about $40 on a pot you won’t be able to use.

Negative experience: I am absolutely stunned that the store refused to either refund me or replace the $100 arrangement I had sent to a good friend. I was offered a store credit of $25 which is an insult. See the photo of what I thought I ordered and the arrangement that was sent (taken hours after delivery). We waited a week for it to bloom as promised but after 8 days it was just twigs.

Fantastic experience: I found eco|stems online while searching for a birthday gift for my mother. Once I finally made the journey out to King Street, I was delighted by how quick and easy the process of placing my order was. The two attending employees -- to my memory, Nicole and Angela -- were friendly and attentive, and helped a know-nothing like me to create a planter that my mother would love. When I came to pick up the finished result the next day, Angela popped out from the back and excitedly pointed out the extra touches she had added (red!) There's clearly a lot of passion in the store, and it reflects in their products and their service.

Fantastic experience: I was looking for a flower delivery service in Toronto that is sustainable, beautiful, and relatively affordable, and ecostems met all the bars! The recipient of my gift absolutely adores the spring bundle I ordered for her and because the flowers are in a pot with their bulbs and roots, they will bloom again for her every year. What's a better gift than that? (:

Fantastic experience: I love my succulents and terrarium materials...I made my first succulent terrariums and now I'm hooked. When I didn't answer the door they thoughtfully called to make sure I'd gotten my delivery

Fantastic experience: Process to order was simple. The eucalyptus smelled amazing and looked beautiful, this is one of the first times I found good quality eucalyptus. The employee who delivered my flowers was also very nice. I am definitely going to re-purchase from here in the future. I am unsure if you can request a time for the order to be delivered- in the future this is something I would inquire about as I did not know roughly when the delivery would take place.

Fantastic experience: Great service, beautiful products! Next-day ordering was easy, and the gift they delivered to a friend arrived safely and smoothly, and was gorgeous. I was a bit wary of what it meant for them to pick out a pot in the style that I described, but it was perfect! A+ all-around. Will definitely use them again.

Fantastic experience: eco stems is a great florist shop. I have ordered (for delivery) beautiful orchids, dried lavender, seed cards and more recently a Scarlet Star Bromeliad. They are friendly, helpful and respond promptly to queries and provide an excellent experience with the purchase of flowers and plants. And their plants are healthy and vibrant!

Positive experience: Great local spot to pick up a bouquet of flowers - they have decent variety granted the limited space. Aesthetics are top notch with rose petals sometimes scattered along the storefront. Beware of asking questions here as the staff can be quite short & unhelpful, when asked their professional opinion on colour combinations you’ll be met with retorts like “depends on what you like”.

Fantastic experience: Placed an order on-line on the user-friendly website and was glad to find that my order was handled quickly, delivery was reliable and the flowers (selected for me by eco stems) were a big hit. The recipient told me eco stems was her favorite florist - a lucky choice on my part - and with this quality of service I can understand why. Not inexpensive but worth every cent. Strongly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Ordered 8 plants from Eco Stems. They all arrived in pristine condition, very healthy, and have been thriving for the past few weeks. Some of the cleanest, best kept plants I've ever bought - with prompt and easy delivery!

Negative experience: I wanted to love this place but I just couldn’t. I got a couple things as a gift and this was the experience. Upon entry the person wasn’t greeted and throughout their experience the employees were very short with them. There was no receipt to possibly exchange or return the purchased items. The gold watering can is lovely at first glance however extremely poorly made with visible gold plate missing and the soldering is awful, which is not the shops fault, however pricing it ridiculously at $50 is far too much. I received a plant as well that was made up of 3 cuttings. After a week of it constantly looking droopy and dying I realized the cuttings were simply clipped and placed in dirt, not propagated and they had no roots. Overall extremely disappointed in this place. I know others have lovely experiences but I had to share mine.

Fantastic experience: Great products to send to a friend or loved one - unique air terrariums, amazing chocolates from Chocolat de Kat, and great service. Also love how environmentally conscious they are with green initiatives in place.

Fantastic experience: We got a while flowers hand tied bouquet with 6 white roses for a wedding. The bouquet looked amazing and the pictures came out just beautiful. It was about 30 degrees the day of but when we got back home and put the bouquet in water the flowers came back to life! Definitely recommend their hand tied bouquets for any occasion.

Fantastic experience: I was extremely happy with the bouquet I ordered. I received 6 organic roses paired with alstroemeria and some greenery. I used 3 of the roses to decorate a cake and kept the rest of the flowers for myself. The bouquet was so lovely and it lasted over a week.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful shop! If you’re in the King East area, drop by this flower shop, they have a variety of succulents and other types of house plants. I have to say, their bouquets are on the little pricier side, ranging from $50-$65. Could find similar quality bouquets in the Queen West end.

Fantastic experience: I have purchased plants & flowers several times from Ecostems and recommend this business highly. Their website is user friendly and well designed, the staff are highly responsive and helpful during phone calls, and most of all, their plants and flowers are top quality. I have been able to visit their store to pick up plants once last year when pandemic rules permitted - it is an absolute delight and confirmed my notion that the owners/staff really love and care for plants.

Fantastic experience: eco stems far exceeded my expectations. I wanted to send flower arrangements to a colleague for a deeply important family occasion. This was during a COVID lockdown when stores were only open for online, curbside pickup, or telephone orders. I am an older man and have only rarely ordered flowers for anyone other than my wife, so I did not know what I wanted or needed for this occasion. I called eco stems and explained my situation. They were phenomenally helpful, politely answered all of my many questions, and provided advice about the types, size, colours, etc. of flowers and nature of the arrangements that would be most appropriate, all within my price range. I also had some specific delivery instructions in addition to next day delivery. eco stems did it all and in a wonderfully pleasant manner. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with eco stems. The pièce de résistance was when the recipient called me to thank me and tell me how stunningly beautiful the arrangements were. Selecting these arrangements was important to me and to a lot of other people who were relying on me to get it right. I will definitely go back to eco stems and highly recommend them.

Their flowers are all either locally grown or fair trade and they practice sustainability in all their actions, from watering plants to their packaging. I love the terrariums that come in eco-friendly recycled glass globes!

The staff are friendly, knowledgeable of their products and make the effort to understand my requests. The bonus is that they are environmentally friendly. Fantastic experience: I sent my sister two air plant turrariums, a lavender bouquet, a candle and some coloured match sticks. She loved them all. The turrariums were especially unique and look great in her 15 floor level appartment in Toronto. I also really liked how accessable the website was!

Negative experience: I ordered three plants from this store for curbside pickup, was a bit disappointed when I inspected them at home. The watermelon peperomia had multiple rotting black leaves and stems which continued to spread in the following weeks. I called the store asking for advice as to whether this was maybe a fungal issue or perhaps overwatering. The staff member I spoke with knew absolutely nothing about this plant, couldn't give me any advice, and slyly shifted the blame to me despite the fact that I was sold the plant in this condition. Considering these are $30+ per plant, you would at the very least expect them to be properly inspected and pruned before being sold. Furthermore the lack of knowledge or willingness to divulge any advice left a sour taste in my mouth. Not shopping here again. 2 stars for carrying some harder to find plants.

Fantastic experience: Great flowers, lovely folks! I live close by and I've bought flowers here several times. I've also used their delivery service to get things sent across Toronto and it's always been early or on time. Definitely helps to know that their process is as eco friendly as possible as well. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: I called to inquire about a plant a while back and received the worst customer service of my life! The person on the phone was dismissive and flat out rude. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I even called back a different day, spoke to some else else and was met with the same arrogant attitude! Unbelievable!
