Fantastic experience: Katie provided the bouquets and floral arrangements for our wedding and they were absolutely stunning. Katie selected flowers and made bouquets that reflected the colour palette and style we were after - pastel yellow, pinks and dainty/elegant. She was prompt in her communication, and provided great suggestions for our floral selection. The flowers were my decoration highlight for our wedding and many of our guests were admiring them. A real bonus being able to borrow bud vases and plinths for the flowers (plinths laid down as was a little windy!), and having the flowers delivered. Despite the wind, they lasted so well throughout the wedding day and post wedding brunch and remained looking fresh and healthy. Fantastic experience: A shop that’s not worth spending money on—if you don’t leave a five-star review, you’ll get many text messages and accused of ruining their small business. This review is quite long, but if you’re reading it, please be sure to read until the end. In less than two weeks since moving from Auckland to Whangārei, I’ve bought flowers from three different shops to see which one is worth buying from long-term. So far, I personally think this shop has the florist with the best sense of aesthetics. The delivery fee to Whangārei Central is $12, which is on the higher side (no in-store pickup option on their online shop), but the delivery is very prompt. This bouquet cost $160, but the quality of the flowers, especially their freshness, doesn’t quite match the price. If you urgently need flowers in Whangārei, this shop is a good option, but if it’s not urgent, you might want to save the money for something else—the cost-effectiveness just isn’t there. Update: From the time I received the flowers around 10 AM to just after 1:30 PM (and today is a cloudy day, in an office environment), the white and pink flowers have already started wilting. In another picture where I’ve highlighted certain areas, the normal fresh state of these flowers should at least resemble the ones highlighted in yellow. However, the ones I’ve highlighted in white are not fresh and are even on the verge of wilting—they are drooping, and the drooping parts have already gone soft. Latest update: If you dare leave a negative review on Google for this business, you’ll be met with “unfair negative Google reviews have the potential to be harmful to small businesses like mine,” blaming the customer for not following advice that was never given. The only possibly relevant statement was “flowers should be transferred to a vase as soon as possible for future reference,” but everyone interprets this differently. Perhaps in the business owner’s view, that counts as advice. I don’t run a flower shop or grow flowers, and no one spends $160 on flowers to ruin your precious business. Receiving flowers in such poor condition and being unjustly blamed is even more unfair and harmful to the customer. If you believe that issuing a refund gives you the right to make such baseless accusations, I’ll gladly return it to you.

Fantastic experience: Katie and her team did the florals for my wedding in November 2024, and I couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out. From the very start, Katie was approachable, responsive, and easy to work with. I can be pretty particular, and there was a lot of back-and-forth during the planning process, but she was so patient and understanding. She even took the time to schedule a Zoom call with me to go over my ideas and make adjustments until it felt just right. Her work is stunning, and it’s clear she’s passionate about what she does. Katie explained the floral choices in detail, how they’d come together, and what to expect on the day. It made the whole process feel easy and stress-free because I trusted her completely. One thing that really stood out was how thoughtful she was on the day of the wedding. To help with my budget, Katie stayed after the ceremony to move the florals from outside to the reception space, which I was so grateful for. She made the transition so seamless that I didn’t even notice it happening, and it saved us a lot of stress (and cost!). The florals ended up being one of the most complimented parts of the wedding. They were absolutely beautiful and brought the whole day to life in a way I couldn’t have imagined. Katie, thank you so much for your hard work, attention to detail, and kindness. You made the entire experience such a joy, and I’d recommend you to anyone looking for a florist who truly cares about her work and her clients.

Fantastic experience: This review has been a long time coming but today seriously was the icing on the cake. I always buy my wife flowers from Katie and the team at little leaf and my wife has loved EVERY SINGLE BUNCH!!! Today was different though. My childhood cousin passed away last week so I bought the "florist choice" bundle and asked for something custom to give to his mum but also represented him. Not only did they do that for us, but they also fit us in on a day where they already had a full ordering schedule, but they went out of their way to deliver the flowers to our house and left them in a spot out of the sun to help them last. Thank you to Katie and the team for your beautiful flowers and wonderful service!

Katie went above and beyond, but also truly created one of the most unique, thoughtful and beautiful floral arrangements that I have seen. I live in Europe and often send flowers within N.Z for friends and family, and am almost always disappointed with the result, this time I was floored. I absolutely love flowers and Little Leaf feels like a gem of a find, in my experience they managed to pair the beauty of wild unique flowers with a luxury aesthetic, while still being soft and so, so beautiful, its super evident that they are a floral studio with a very, very talented team.
