Fantastic experience: I ordered a flower delivery for my friend across the country and the flowers were absolutely beautiful. Their website and instagram is well updated and easy to navigate, so it was really helpful in deciding what I wanted. I was a bit concerned with the size of the bouquet (I ordered Cutie on the website) but it was the perfect size for a casual celebration. I asked for specific colours which they went above and beyond in choosing the most perfect flowers for!! Thank you again for the quick delivery and the prettiest flowers. I hope I can visit in person one day!

Negative experience: For my birthday my husband surprised me with a "Deluxe Bouquet every month for a year" from Amborella Floral. The 1st delivery was beautiful but the next 2 deliveries the flowers lasted 2 days and then died. My husband tried to call and ended up leaving a message. I then sent an email explaining what the flowers were like. We then followed it up with a phone call and talked to Faith the "Administrator". She had no interest in our issue and in fact told us that it was Black Friday and she didn't have time to deal with our concerns. We then told her to cancel the rest of our years' subscription she said no problem. She had no interest in retaining our business. I called the next business day and asked to speak to the owner/manager and this same person, Faith, asked what it was regarding, I told her I preferred to speak to the owner directly because I wanted her to be aware of my situation as it is her business. Faith wouldn't put my call through and refused to give me the owners name or email. She told me I needed to make an appointment to speak to the owner! She then told me she didn't like how the conversation was going and hung up on me. I am a business owner with 90 employees and if one of my employees EVER talked to a customer the way I was talked to they would be out of a job. I am proud of my business and my staff is encouraged to give out my name to any customer who asks for it.

Positive experience: Just attended the BYOV workshop last Friday. Although my friend and I had a good time and both left with beautiful bouquets majority of our flowers began to die 3 days later. I had roses and snapdragons that did not last. At $10 a bloom I would have expected to get more time out of them. Most of the flower selections were already in full bloom and some looked on their way out. Maybe these workshops help them get rid of old stock? I don't think what I got was worth the price I paid for only 3 days of life.

Fantastic experience: Thank you,. I received some flowers that weren't the freshest and they didn't make it after just a couple days. It was a very hot day (32c) and the delivery came with the cello bag was dried out so possibly too many deliveries that day. However, the customer service at umbrella is always so fantastic. They redelivered the flowers today and they look magnificent. Thank you very much for your excellent customer service and always making it right. I very much appreciate it.

Negative experience: Brides Beware! The florals were pretty however several issues impacted our experience and I would not recommend Amborella. The “oversized” bridal bouquet was much smaller than expected, and I had to drive to back to Amborella after having it delivered to have them fix the size of the bouquet. The florist remarked that she did feel like it was too small when it was on its way out on the delivery truck. Having to rearrange my schedule to have them fix the bridal bouquet was a major inconvenience. We had special ordered an arrangement of orange lilies for sentimental reasons. The majority of these lilies arrived green and unopened, forcing us to purchase replacements last-minute at the grocery store. Despite closely following the instructions the corsages also wilted quickly and had to be patched together from other arrangements. Overall the florals are very overpriced. $165 for a bridesmaid bouquet, and one of them was just 6-7 peonies with no greenery and they didn’t last the day despite proper care. I provided this feedback directly to the shop after the wedding but simply received a “sorry we didn’t meet your expectations”. Is expecting open florals that will last a day and correspond with the size ordered too much to ask?

Positive experience: I have the weekly ten peony subscription. The first week the flowers lasted about four days. I then kept the flowers in the fridge overnight and recut them daily and put them in fresh water with a small amount of sugar daily as well. The second week they lasted 7 days. I would note that the blooms were fresher. This last week the first peony expired within 4 hours, and two others are showing signs of giving up the ghost even after being refrigerated overnight. So my comment is that the blooms are of variable quality and perhaps not selected with the greatest care. Perhaps things will improve next week.

Fantastic experience: I recently attended a floral arrangement workshop here, and it was absolutely delightful! Monique was warm, engaging, and made the entire experience both fun and relaxing. She shared helpful tips throughout, and her passion for flowers really shone through. The final bouquet (pictured in the third photo) is hands-down the most beautiful one I’ve ever made—or received! I left feeling inspired and can’t wait to sign up for more workshops in the future. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: Signed up for the subscription service and none of the flower arrangements arrived which required me to call and have them delivered every month. This happened three months in a row before I cancelled my subscription. They did not ring the doorbell when delivering in the winter so the flowers were found frozen in the doorstep even though someone was home. Flowers not as pictured and when I contacted them, they agreed they were missing flowers in the first arrangement. Staff is friendly but I am extremely disappointed in service since every delivery was forgotten about. When I called to ask about it, employees could not find if the delivery went out or not and deferred another 4 days until someone else could contact me. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was denied my request and told that someone else will call me next week instead.

Fantastic experience: I am a gardener of many years and if the gorgeous display at this years Calgary home and garden show is any indication of the dedication to aesthetics of this shop, I am all in! I can’t wait to visit this shop! well done!

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars, I would. I’ve order from Amborella a dozen times and this was the worst experience I’ve ever had. We spent almost $180 on flowers and delivery. I requested morning delivery if possible and the flowers didn’t show up till 3 PM. I contacted the courier multiple times and no one got back to me with a timeframe and then when the flowers finally arrived they were so small and disappointing.

Negative experience: Smaller and lower quality than advertised. A disappoint for $140 plus delivery. See photos. So bad. Amborella: Please advise if you can rectify with contact information and name.

Negative experience: I was excited to come pick up a bouquet of flowers here, so I drove down from the NW, about a 30 minute drive from my house. I arrived about an hour before closing on Saturday and the sign said open, google maps said open until 6pm, but when I tried to get in the door was locked. I called, no answer. Unfortunately will not be making the drive down here again.

Positive experience: The best option for this place is to select the prearranged flower bouquets and ask the staff to combine them. If you select your flowers, it’ll cost you much more.

If im being honest i didn’t buy anything however the impound lot was across and my phone happened to die and we had no charger so we decided to ask them if they were able to charge our phone for us and they did! Fantastic experience: Had a great experience doing one of their floral bouquet workshops. The instructor was informative, concise, and passionate of their craft. They were kind and engaged with every participant, making it an enjoyable experience for myself and other participants. Learned a few new things about flowers and I was able to make a lovely and colourful bouquet to my liking that was fairly affordable when compared to buying flowers in big stores. I appreciated the price transparency throughout the session and expertise of the staff to help me get the most bang for my buck! The focus of the workshop was for everyone to have a good time, and every participant made something different with a wide variety of flowers to pick from. I had lots of fun making my first bouquet and I will definitely come back to do another workshop in the future.

Negative experience: Extremely poor service last evening. It was 15 minutes prior to closing and the florist at the counter was with 2 other seated clients. I waited patiently as I didn't want to interrupt her time with the other clients. At no point did she acknowledge me or say hello. She didn't say, "I will be with you shortly or sorry I'm going to be awhile, could you come back tomorrow?" Anything would have greatly appreciated. Perhaps the owner should take the time to properly train the staff ensuring clients are treated respectfully when entering Amborella Floral. I definitely won't be going back again and will let everyone know it's not the place to go. I'm grateful there's so many wonderful, professional florists within Calgary that have exceptional customer service, beautiful florals, and appreciate people supporting local businesses. I would have given zero stars. However, with one star being the lowest, I think that's being over generous.

Fantastic experience: I used Amborella for my wedding flowers and was so thrilled with the how everything turned out. The ordering process was so easy and they were responsive leading up to the wedding. The website ordering is supposed to be a bit less personal with no consultation but they included everything I asked for. The flowers looked great when they showed up and beautiful throughout the day. I’d recommend Amborella to any bride looking for great value and an easy process with florals!

Negative experience: Very disappointed in the Mother’s Day flowers I ordered. Flowers arrived and some were already wilting; you can get flowers from the grocery store that last longer. This shop used to be the best, not sure what happened but I’ll be taking my business elsewhere until they get back to quality.

Fantastic experience: I ordered a bouquet for my sister in law for her birthday and even though it was close to Mother's Day, they were more than helpful to help me out. The only ordering was easy and when I went to pick up my order they were very helpful and friendly.

Positive experience: Received some flowers for Mother’s Day and quite honestly was disappointed but the amount and quality of flowers for the price. The bouquet was $69 and there were maybe 8 flowers and some greenery. Some of the flowers already browning at the edges. I buy flowers from other shops in town and have received much better value for money. I have ordered flowers from this shop in the past and have been very happy, so I hope this is a one off, however I’ll probably go elsewhere when I am looking for flowers.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic little shop! Came by today after I got off work and walked out with a fantastic bouquet of flowers, for my girlfriend who was having an off day. When I walked in I was greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Monica or Monique (awful with names), was extremely helpful as this was my first time ever buying flowers for someone. She made my time there feel very appreciated and calming, she did amazing job with the layout and colours! My girlfriend absolutely loves the bouquet and it made her day :) You can always expect good service when the people who work there love what they do! And that was exactly what I got today. This won’t be the last time I go there!

Negative experience: Quality has unfortunately dropped off, flowers arrive looking haggard and they don't last longer than a day. In response to their reply, I did call and leave a message during business hours and got no response...No one has reached out to me to remedy the issue. Not great customer service.

Negative experience: I used to buy from the store every month but the last two deliveries have dies in days I spent over a 100 this week for a small but beautiful pumpkin arrangement and it won't even make it to Thanksgiving dinner. Not sure what has happened since they no longer have a store but just can't shop there anymore I picked off most of the wilted and dead leaves but looks pretty spent still. Going to delete as business is tough and though I stand by the last few deliveries were not acceptable, I did enjoy purchasing there for years.

Negative experience: Flower delivery was small, broken and limp ( the flowers died a couple days later), the macarons I ordered arrived opened. Received no response after 2 emails. Never use again, very pricey, awful service and no care anymore. There are much better floral shops out there. Don’t waste your money or time here.

Fantastic experience: I am lucky enough to receive Amborella Floral bouquets from my husband relatively regularly, and they are always stunning (don't tell him this, but his choice of Amborella may be one of the reasons why we are now married. A guy who sends beautiful flowers just because and has good taste?? Keeper). Having been on the receiving end of these arrangements for many years, Amborella has now become my go-to whenever I need to send flowers within Calgary. The order process is simple, service is seamless, and the product is always wow-worthy. While it is pricey, this is one florist that feels worth the price tag. Love the beautiful simplicity of the Amborella style, and the burlap adds such a lovely touch. Amborella will continue to be our florist of choice in future. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: I will give it to them that their arrangements are beautiful. With that said, they are pricey and do not last!! We have ordered flowers multiple times from here and are lucky to get 2 days out of them before we have to start throwing flowers away. Again, it's sad because do they make great arrangements, but we cannot justify paying that price for something that barely lasts!! May 8th 2023 Update: I would like to address the response below from the owner. First off, I do appreciate you taking the time to respond. That does show your commitment to customer service so thank you for that. With that said, don’t love the tone of the response. I understand flowers come from plants (thanks for the lesson) and also get the environment of flowers will impact longevity. The thing that baffles me is how flower bouquets from other outfits last weeks longer in the exact same environment compared to those coming from your location. I am assuming you looked up my account and see that I have not purchased a bouquet since 2021. Again, there is a reason for that as I have been continually frustrated with the duration of how long the flowers last. I still do love the grinchies though so I will probably be back for those. Moving on, my wife (different last name) has actually made purchases since 2021 and again we have been very frustrated with those purchases. My wife even made efforts to contact the store looking for support. Without getting into the details, we will just say no valuable suggestions were made and no replacements were ever offered. The most recent occurrence was actually April 2023 when my mother in law sent us a bouquet through your location to mark a very special occasion. She spent $100 and we had to compost large portions of the bouquet only 2 days later. I do not want to get into a back on forth on this but just felt the need to share my frustration. Again, the bouquets are beautiful, probably some of the best in the city but we are just not happy overall with how long these bouquets last. The owner mentions improvements to their quality control process. I do indeed hope these improvements work. Again, the arrangements are beautiful, and I am not saying I will never be back but for now, I will explore other options.

Positive experience: Bouquets are always beautiful. Disappointed with size for the $ and longevity. 4 days after delivery a number of the flowers and greenery have wilted and yellowed. Expect more than that for the price point.

Fantastic experience: Amborella is amazing, I have gotten flowers from them numerous times and had a great experience every time! The staff are very friendly and have been very helpful for a guy who knows nothing about flowers! I don't know about the people complaining about the quality of flowers, they have always been great in my experience, and the uniqueness of the flowers is why you go to Amborella. If you want boring flowers you can go to a grocery store, Amborella makes unique beautiful bouquets and yes that does mean some of the flowers will die sooner because they are more delicate and don't last as long but that is why you go to Amborella for the higher class flowers. If you have a wife that has expensive taste this is the flower shop for you!

Fantastic experience: I signed up for the monthly bouquet subscription. I absolutely love the variety and quality of each bouquet I have received so far and can't wait to see what's in store for the rest of the year! The flowers last amazing well (usually at least 10 days!)

Positive experience: I ordered many flowers to my friends last Christmas. However no feedback at all. I am wondering that did they received them?

Fantastic experience: I always choose Amborella for floral deliveries to friends and family. The flowers are always gorgeous. I recently ordered a bouquet for my girlfriend and she, her family, and everyone who saw it were gushing about how beautiful it was. The flowers were lush and complimented each other so well, and the bouquet was wrapped so nicely. I will be using Amborella again in the future!
