Negative experience: LET DOWN! I ordered a bouquet to be delivered on Friday morning for a member of our team who was leaving at lunch time. I phoned Slades as they are a local florist rather than a national company who just outsource. I called before placing the order specifically to ask if they could facilitate a morning delivery which they assured me they could. I explained that it had to be morning and pls tell me if they couldn't and I would order from somewhere else. They assured me they would deliver in the morning. The lady said they deliver from 9 onwards and so she mentioned putting it early in the route that day. On the morning there was no sign and no contact so I called and spoke to a member of staff who passed me on to another member of staff, who in a rather blasé manner said they had been held up at a wedding and we're waiting for the driver to come back, no idea when the driver would return and not sure if the flowers would arrive during the morning. DISAPPOINTED doesn't begin to describe how I felt and the absence of a care that came across on the phone. Shocked I rang off, and then called back to see if they could ring me as soon as the driver got there so I had an idea of when - that time I spoke to a different member of staff who then put me on to the person dealing with it who said they could ring when the flowers were picked up for delivery. 3 different members of staff I spoke to on the phone. However by this time it was 10.30 and the driver hadn't even picked up the flowers from them. Knowing it would take 30 mins to get to our offices just travelling time without the time they would spend loading various deliveries and working out the route I had no choice but to get in the car (whilst I was meant to be at work myself) and drive to pick them up. I let the florists know and they said they would refund the £6 delivery which they did. On getting there the gentleman brought the bouquet out as I couldn't park outside and told me someone had called in sick today- different story to what I was told initially about being held up at a wedding! Hugely disappointed by just the lack of care that they promised a service and not only weren't going to deliver but didn't even think to let me know they werent going to fulfil the order as agreed. I wonder with three members of staff I spoke to on the phone whether anyone at any point thought about one of them getting in the car and delivering in the specified time frame rather than just being happy to let the customer down. I absolutely should have ordered from Bloom and Wild instead! LET DOWN!

Negative experience: Avoid! When will I learn? I bought pink peonies in bud last year that died and never opened. Yesterday I bought white peonies and over half of them are drooping and dying this morning. Worst of all, they let me down hugely with funeral flowers some years ago. I ordered a spray with sunflowers and they were in tight bud. I don’t think any of them take any pride in their work or flowers.

She was kind, patient, respectful and the double-ended spray she did was absolutely beautiful. And, importantly, she interpreted my Mum’s wishes perfectly. Slades Florist & Greengrocers are an incredibly friendly, helpful and professional outfit. Their floral arrangements are particularly beautiful. From English garden flowers and scented blooms to exotics like Proteas they really have everything. I'm lucky enough to have family and friends who send me flowers from here and they are always the freshest, most beautiful specimens. On mothers day my boys sent a vast arrangement of multi coloured tulips that lasted nearly a month and today I've recieved roses, michaelmas daisies and monkshood in the most beautiful whites, blues and purples. The owner delivered them in the most atrocious weather to make sure I got them early on my birthday. I can also recommend Their Christmas trees, we've been buying ours here for 25 years. Fantastic experience: I lived in West Bridgford from1971 to 2005 and Slades flower were always on Melton Road. You could always count on their beautiful flowers and friendly service. So when I wanted some flowers for my daughter who still is living in WB, I was surprised Slades was up and online. So in the evening, from my settee in Spain I ordered, and the flowers were delivered the day after before mid day. My daughter sent a thank you, with a picture and the bouquet was identical to the one I ordered. Also the message was conveyed to the letter. So thank you very much Slades, your service is still fabulous.

Positive experience: I do like this shop, we need to have one nearer us in Ruddington, but they shouldn't have sold me those flowers for £32.50 that were nearest to the door. When my wife unwrapped them some of them were dead and even the leaves looked all parched. Either sell them for less or point me in the direction of the ones nearer to the counter (which I now know are more recent). This bumps them down to 3 out of 5. Sorry guys but you do know what you're doing.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful flowers delivered on time for a funeral .Stunning large white roses carefully arranged with other coordinating flowers and foilage and tied with a raffia bow. Joshua even provided a bucket to keep them in overnight.Excellent service and will certainly order again. Thankyou.

Fantastic experience: I ordered a bouquet of 50 roses the afternoon before my proposal. I even rang them just a couple minutes before they closed and they were very accommodating and listened to how I wanted it to be. This was very important for me and they even delivered it on time at the venue. This was my first time ordering from Slades and definitely not the last!

Negative experience: Normally your flowers last at least 7/8 days. A bouquet brought to me on Tuesday is dying already. Roses dead by Wednesday and now the only colour left is 2 pink carnations. Very dissapointed not your usual standard
